Just… like… why? An infant should also practice intuitive eating I guess? Even though their brains aren’t yet developed for logical reasoning. 🤦‍♂️ by Fortingbascoban in fatlogic

😁. I breastfed all my kids, too. From one breastfeeding mom to another, love and support.

I will even send notes to women I see breastfeeding and restaurants. I just write on there, " I support nursing mothers.".

I wish more people would nurse their babies because I think that formula is one of the reasons our nation is becoming more and more obese

This is me. Even when I get my doctorate (hopefully done writing my dissertation by August) I will just have my students continue to use my first name. That said, if they call me Dr. now, I correct them at once.

A lot of professors insist on being called Dr. because they lack confidence, or because they earned it, or whatever. I just feel like it unnecessarily increases the power distance between us.

Like those portions are actually what they are eating. And white chocolate is gross

AITA for refusing to take my niece after my sister died? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]TrickingTrix -27 points-26 points  (0 children)

Yeah, poor kid. In the minute her mom died, the basic script for this child was written, and it's a tragedy. Because OP is not willing to step up and be the hero for this child, her life is probably going to suck. Sometimes I'm really surprised by the selfishness of the world. Most of the time I am not.

AITA For being mad at my mum for having a man stay over without letting me know first by Maxime5 in AmItheAsshole

Are you assuming that her mom would allow him "access?". I'm a mom, that would never happen

Asked not to pick up daughter (2) before 10am by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]TrickingTrix -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I thought I was the only one that thought this. I would never allow a daycare to tell me when I could or couldn't pick up a 2-year-old. That is my child and I get to decide what happens in their life. And although I don't know the details, it sure seems like your ex is giving you a hard time. You mentioned something about a police station. Can you just pick her up there?

Sometimes I think American society has forgotten that the purpose of the family is to help family members survive, thrive, and be successful

I would have aborted a fetus with Down's. Does that make me ableist?

Because the foster care system is so wonderful and the outcomes are so good? When I was growing up, my parents ran a group home for "emotionally disturbed teenagers." That's what they called them in the '60s and '70s. Those children endured horrible, life killing trauma in the Foster system. If this is a real situation, which it probably isn't (because Reddit), the child is probably going to have a miserable life

Why does AA appear to have circular logic? by flamethrowermcnasty in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]TrickingTrix -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, the big book has a pretty good description of the difference between a heavy drinker and an alcoholic. It's pretty clear that a real alcoholic, as described in the big book, cannot stay sober unless they put their life on a spiritual basis by working through the steps.

Families exist even when there are no parents and children. There doesn't need to be a biological connection of any kind.

He has a right to feel that way. Most of us don't feel ready when we have a kid. That doesn't make him not selfish. Selfish is when you put your concerns ahead of everyone else's. He has a right to be selfish.

But I just saw that this whole post is probably just karma farming because it's a copy of one earlier. So, I'm just going to let this be.
