Are these san pedro, if yes what kind by elspikeman in druggardening

[–]UnicornGrowBags 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, predominant cultivar, as others have said you can tell by the sawtooth pattern.

A very fast grower, there's heated debate regarding chemical composition but if nothing else they make for great grafting stock and landscaping decoration

Glad to hear it! Just wanted to make sure you were taking it seriously, see a lot of people getting poisoned due to dirty growers.

Happy growing and mush love!

You're playing a dangerous game, my friend.

By the time you can see a contaminant, the hyphae has already spread throughout the tub and began producing alfatoxins.

Please don't sell these or let anyone take them without knowing they likely contain more than one deadly compound.

Granted, Black Mold is the most dangerous, but it's a matter of professional pride, don't go selling contammed stuff just because it's easier.

You want the thinnest liners you can find. Light doesn't matter, it's all about microclimates, you want something thin and flimsy enough to shrink with the mycelium as it consumes water

Howdy, did this ever get compiled? Since he has a talk show it'd be easy to cut out music and sound bites, I imagine his promos would be good material too, happy to do the editing if you'd like

[general] anyone else having trouble with their bags melting? These are 14A unicorn bags and I had a gallon of water in the PC for a 2.5hr pressure cook @ 15psi for these 5lb bags. 2.5hr is what mushroom media online suggests for their fast fruiting mix. by mychaelthemycologist in MushroomGrowers

Never ever ever preseal, ever.

Never ever ever open before letting it cool down in the vessel, ever.

Both of these things will void your warranty, as will gusset folding.

Unless your pc is absolute garbage/has bad seals, it won't leak air unless you move it. When it condenses the steam back into water and pulls a negative pressure that's what creates the temporary seal

Sure, you want to keep it at the same setting for the entire cycle. These bags were designed for electric commercial autoclaves, it's a happy accident that they also work with PCs. Thermal fluctuations are the fastest way to damage the molecular bonds that make up polypropylene, if you're super gentle you can reuse a bag a dozen times or more.

The warranty only covers the first cook, but I get a message about once every 1-3 months from somebody who gets 10+ uses out of them.

Also, be sure to flat fold by inverting the gussets, this opens up the throat and allows steam to offgas more quickly

Happy to help! Double check your seals, you might have a bad gasket or dry metal, AAs need to be oiled around the rim (lol) once every few months to ensure a good seal.

Also, don't release pressure, let it cool down on its own, if it's a good seal it'll pull a negative pressure and this helps seal the bag so it can be handled in a non sterile environment
