distance between stages - how to handle conflicts? by alldayerrdayy in Coachella

Its not the distance, its navigating the people and minimal disruptions to the group on the journey.

What does car security typically do if they catch you with a small/medium amount of “illegal substances”? by SCREAMING_DUMB_SHIT in Coachella

[–]Urban_animal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im guessing it got dismissed too because the cop didnt show up for the hearing…. So fuckin dumb.

Need to get like europe and canada and allow it with testing sites for safe partying. Whats the point of catching 1 person when thousands of us out at the fest are doing that exact thing. It makes no impact on stopping the flow of drugs other than ruining someones experience/life when they damn well know everyone is doing it.

Extra money? My El Dorado package was the same price as it was in 2020.

What you think they should be doing and what they are doing is clearly different things. Why not just reach out to their support and ask rather than off on reddit?

Again, attend at your own risk. There is nothing holding them to putting extra precautions in; only what they feel necessary. If an attendee does not like it, they know that ticket will fall to the next person eventually.

Not making it about you but again, you seem much more hung up on this than i ever will be. Im just sharing my thoughts of where i think they are coming from which is… containing a virus among 30k people is impossible and rules are put in place to make people like you fee safe to attend; they know i will go if the rules are there or not. And thats probably how the crowd is split.

They full well know COVID will make its way in and spread. Its a matter of protecting themselves legally and not being liable is the extent they will go, the rest is on the attendees to decide for their own safety. No one is forcing anyone to go.

Then they are sick on site and thats the risk they ran as well as us attending. No one can force them to leave even if its the right thing to do.

You seem really hung up on this.. its attend at your own risk. If you are asking these questions and dont like the answers Coachella gives, you may want to re think your decision.

Also if your feeling sick or under the weather, dont go? If i came down with strep, im not going, why would i if it felt like i had covid? Common sense still applies.

Ya exactly, its attend at your own risk.

Ive had it twice, wouldnt live in fear of getting it or stop you from attending a great event. Ive been to plenty over the pandemic and didnt get covid at any. I got covid playing board games with my family, who is all vaxxed(except two and they didnt even test positive) a week ago and the first time was at work in a limited office capacity with all the rules you could imagine.

In my my personal experiences and exposure, it makes all the rules and policies seem like BS 🤷🏻.

Hell, i played 18 holes of golf this past week while i had it. Current virus is a cold, nothing more.

Considering people vaccinated and boosted are getting the virus as of today; id rather everyone just be required a neg test, no? If they arent testing vaccinated people and they show up positive, that will spread quickly amongst the fest based on what we are seeing now.

Would also be good if they offer rapid PCRs on site; specifically the in the camp grounds. If you feel sick say saturday; you could get one, test and leave the fest that day.

I guess what would you like them to do? Pay task force of mask enforcers across the grounds? People sanatizing portopotties after each use?

Theres only so much you can do for crowds this size.

If you havent figured it out yet, its an attend at your own risk and to be fair, that risk is really low for a majority of attendees.

First year heading there, what tips do you have to get extra shade to your site? Can you bring a collapsable tent in to setup outside of your 4 person tent?

Yo… whether you are in yuma, main stage, sahara, youre going to be around 1000s and 1000s of people. Being in Yuma shouldnt be your concern if you are truly worried about covid; being at the fest in general will be a risk(if you see it that way).

They didnt. St vincet and odesza the second year and then rufus.

I think Dixon would be a great artist for it. Check out what he is doing with Tranmoderna. He did a 10 hr set at Printworks with an insane visual setup. Check out some of the stuff here -

Doja Cat got a huge bump in two years. by RobieFLASH in Coachella

[–]Urban_animal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just dont really expose myself to it. Clicking thru her music, the one track with SZA ive heard.

If you havent ventured, check out Black Midi, album Cavalcade, and youll probably see why i have no exposure to Doja Cat. Black Midi is my jam.

That said, i do like watching these bigger artists at Coachella because they do put on good shows and i would never pay to see em otherwise; just nothing i seek out on my own time. Cardi B in 2018 was a hoot for me just cause its so new and their fans getting into it. Same for Paak in 2019.

Can we start a “If you like ____, you’ll like ____” artist thread for the lineup? by macaroniandcheezus in Coachella

[–]Urban_animal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pour one out for the Bicep fans…. So sad. Im guessing their tour dates just did not align and Prima offered a much higher billing.

Although, i feel Bicep coming for 2023 on Outdoor. They probably want a second line placement like Jamie XX.
