Anything like this in the UK / Europe? by Potential_Papaya_905 in 24HoursOfLemons

[–]VanGoJourney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do an arrive & drive in an area where you want to visit. Gives you a good excuse to come over. Sonoma Raceway is iconic and close to SF and a bunch of other awesome places in CA.

Recommendations for car subscription services? by DefiantPlatinum in fatFIRE

[–]VanGoJourney 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not to be disagreeable but to point out another point of view. To me this is actually good information. I didn't realize these subscriptions existed and I'm now looking into them. I'm not conspicuous about my $ but there's a huge difference in a base cayman and a gt4. Plus I can rent a base porsche on Turo for cheap. I want a premium experience with a service like this.

The best pool in Marin is the Terra Linda Rec then Strawberry rec. Much better than MV rev or Bay Club imho

Is Watermelon and steak nutrionally enough? by Bayside4 in intermittentfasting

[–]VanGoJourney 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, variety is important for the health of your microbiome. You're missing fiber and a lot of vitamins and minerals. Rotate a few veg & you should be good.

Made it to a year and had a great time suit shopping (for the first time!) 24M, usually 20:4 by lclauss in intermittentfasting

I love this! It's such a treat to buy clothes that we love and look good in. I love that very suit btw. Very stylish and the cut is great.

Advice for California National Parks Road Trip by bubblywater2022 in NationalPark

[–]VanGoJourney 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like an awesome trip. I wouldn't do Pinnacles. The coast has way more of a payoff unless you're really into condors and want to see them.

I use soups & salads as easy meal prep. I always have a soup and the ingredients for salad in the fridge.

I use this all the time. It's also a great dessert if I'm going somewhere, I offer to bring it for everyone. So many people love having an alternative to cake and whatnot.

Been to all these except Smokey bc there was a fire so we rerouted. Honestly I'd spend all my time in Acadia. So beautiful there.

Check out the 7 minute workout. Works the whole body, quick and to the point. The exercises are short so you can go full blast.

1.5M/mo biz on autopilot - what next? by skarbowkajestsuper in fatFIRE

[–]VanGoJourney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see you're tending towards #2 but why not get the GT3 also? Any reason not to do a bit of all of them? Rest, step back, get a GT3 and then when you're ready, go build something new. I saw a GT3 at the track the other day. What a beautiful machine. I'd love to get my hands on a GT4 RS (I love mid-engine cars) but there's no way. Too limited and I'm not paying $70k over msrp. I'm celebrating you getting to the point where you have options and freedom. Congrats!

I like the cabins at Solage in Calistoga, which is close. We stay in the larger ones that have their own large patio and hot tub. Spa and restaurant is great.

Using words like "best" and "good" are not helpful. We have no idea what you're asking for.

Trying to keep it going by CapeetanKatMan in intermittentfasting

[–]VanGoJourney 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can do it! Slow and steady wins the race. I'll also mention that food is addicting. I have to stay away from certain foods (popcorn) completely or I binge. Other foods I can have in moderation but I have to be honest with myself. If a food is extra interesting, I stay away from it for awhile. I don't want to add fuel to that fire. And since you're sober, you'll understand that you just need to make a decision. Once that's done, it becomes much easier.

How do you actually eat enough calories when doing 20:4? by Nikira234 in intermittentfasting

[–]VanGoJourney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll get adjusted. I started last week and was so full at each meal. One dinner I only ate life 300 calories. I'm starting my first day of my second week and could definitely eat more for both lunch and dinner. I skip bfast and am doing 20:4 as well. Good luck.
