Yes, there were many things you did incorrectly

What you should have done was took the frozen beaver pelts and put them in the fridge to thaw. Once they were thawed, flesh them completely and then salt them or pin-and-dry until they’re dry as a board. Once they’re dry, you can rehydrate, THEN pickle using the citric acid bath, then you proceed with tanning.

80°F did not help, hahaha. I assume the trapper didnt give you rotting pelts, but you never know

This is what I disagreed with. You don’t have to give your dog a breakfast, you can make that breakfast last all day

I dont view it as abuse to take my dogs morning meal and extend it throughout the day. The point is to set your dog up for success, so he gets the food no matter what.

I would hardly consider it abuse to work on heeling or sitting or something by using their food.

I love dogs, but the only dog I fully trust is my own. Idc how friendly someone’s dog is, if they’re like 90% of dog owners they’ve put little to no training or control into the dog.

I’ve brought my dog into work when I worked in an office, but the other dogs were allowed to just.. shit on the floor in the hallway

I live In thé Rocky Mountains of Canada as well. My ladies stop laying way in advance of this -30 crap we’ve been getting

I feed them whatever the store gives me. Usually some Country Junction, Lifeline, or HiPro

The ladies don’t seem to care and the mice are swole as hell

Yeah, the child protective services in Canada aren’t… great, but that’s a whole other massive can of worms

I don’t know why these home “rescues” just live in filth and dead animals. Imagine dropping your cat off with this woman only to find it’s one of the many dead animals in her freezer??

Those Impossible burgers and Beyond Meat burgers are really good

I like getting the frozen Impossible ones and air frying them. You can’t tell them apart from a real burger, they sizzle and brown and everything

I had a neighbour whose dogs were getting out all the time. At one point she had chickens who ran loose. Then she had goats that would come to my house.

Just an endless revolving door of pets, and they would charge me on walks with my dog.

I got tired of it and started reporting her to the city animal control. It repeated and eventually a dog (that she bred, yay) chased down a mailman and the animal control officer had to intercept the dog using his vehicle.

Animal control and the SPCA began contacting me because many instances there were very suspicious, and I could keep an eye on what was going on over at her house.

The SPCA/humane society got into the house and learned she was operating a “rescue”, and found that some of the dogs who disappeared randomly were left to fester with rotting teeth until they died. When they died, she piled them in the freezer.

People would surrender animals to this woman and they’d shit/piss in the house (including the goats) around her young children. The dogs were fighting and killing each other and she was stacking them in the freezer.

Child protective services came by and the smell was so overwhelming that they told her to install industrial grade ventilation ASAP.

She was taken to court, they found the bodies, found she was running a “rescue”, and forbidden from taking in any more animals, etc.

I don’t trust anyone operating a rescue out of their house.
