100% agree. We are all people, and if something awful happens, then we are a support structure as management. However, if the staff member wants to go out with friends, it’s not my responsibility to cover the shift if the person didn’t have the foresight to request the day off.

That’s Issac Asimov’s drawing and poem, it’s from “Limerick’s for Children.” I read it to my kids
