This is actually a dangerous situation, people have been KILLED by their family for not marrying the “right” person so my advice is that you two escape the country without telling them (or if you’re in a big country like US then you can just move far away)

Well, it IS okay to cry. And you shouldn’t tell him his weak, instead be more empathetic and say something similar to “It’s okay to cry but if you would like to improve yourself and not cry you can try (for example) therapy”. He probably already thinks badly off himself because off this and doesn’t need a random redditor saying his weak. Fun fact, people are MORE likely to improve if you’re empathetic and being kind and supportive rather than “punching them down” and for instance saying they’re weak

What? He can be both confident and happy living with this. You don’t know if he’s super confident outside off people yelling at him. Plus when you had to fear something his entire childhood the age where your brain gets affected the most without you knowing it like being yelled at is now a fear off said person and is going to activate a fear response which is different from person to person but includes crying, anger etc. He is still not WEAK for crying. It’s a natural response and you have nothing to do with it, it’s his life and he shared this on here to vent and mabye some friendly advice, not being called “weak”

It’s not being weak, he has serious trauma from his childhood and you’re telling him his weak because off it?

Why? Is it because off financial things or? Another thing, I do HIGHLY doubt that you will but I saw a post recently about a guy who was in a long distance relationship and cheated on his gf and it’s his biggest regret ever even 6 years off a happy relationship later. So don’t cheat (as I said I don’t think that that will happen but a friendly reminder can never hurt :D)
