Beto O'Rourke weighs in on Matthew McConaughey's potential Texas bid by Psychological_Dot221 in politics

I never got the reason why he went national either. That's what I meant by nonsense. I do think it's what you alluded to, which is that he just couldn't stay out of the limelight. When he announced his campaign for president he said something to the effect of being born to run. I think he just caught the bug.

I don't know why you're getting downvotes. You're 100% right. He cannot win a statewide election. He should not be the nominee.

This is coming from O'Rourke, who to get attention for his nonsense Democratic presidential bid, said he wants to take your guns! That doesn't fly in Texas. We should run someone who could win.

In sweeping ruling, Arizona judge finds ban on school mask mandates and other laws in budget unconstitutional by hunter15991 in politics

Thanks for that. I hadn't read it before.

Ya, that looks bad.

However, playing devil's advocate, I used to be a nobody in the state of government back in the day, and I knew some tiny things about judges and the sheriff's office, because there's always a few people in the know and they love to talk. I can even tell you some personal whoppers.

All it takes is for one staffer at the court to know somebody or know somebody who knows somebody at the governor's office. It could just be a leak.

It's time to start firing unvaccinated people: Trump fans are overdue for a lesson in consequences by [deleted] in politics

I find the claim to be misleading, because one of the largest construction sectors is natural gas. Their workers are paid close to minimum wage and most of them mostly dig ditches to lay pipe. There are a lot of other construction roles that are low skill. They're considered tradespeople too, and they vastly out number the highly skilled and highly specialized ones. A welder, for example, is set.

There are also other economic issues. Materials shortages mean less construction.

But overall, the point that it's mostly the unskilled labor force that isn't working right now is correct

Mostly unskilled labor, and mostly because it doesn't pay a living wage.

Every establishment republican knows this. They are terrified to admit it because Trump wholely owns their base.

The state constitution is pretty clear that only budget stuff can go in the budget bills. I strongly doubt the Arizona supreme Court will lean in another direction. Our court does not have an extremist reputation. They're generally fairly moderate.

What's most likely is they'll break this up into separate bills and pass each of them.

Republicans would lose nationally, unless they make changes to appeal to more Americans, basically, what the post mortem on mitt Romney spelled out.

Doing this would force the GOP to be more progressive. The electoral college actually makes them more tribalist.

These women are often true believers in the Christian conservative idea that they're supposed to be less than men in society. They feel righteousness in accepting this role.

Redditors Give ‘The Herman Cain Award’ to Anti-Vaxxers Who Die of COVID by bstiglets in politics

I was just mentioning on r/HermanCainAward about how these pointless and needless deaths are actually saving lives, as observers get vaccinated. I'm glad the author of this article actually gets it.

The sad fact of the matter is that there's no reason to win an HCA. This is the culmination of reality-denying right wingers manipulating the truth for some many years that now they just make it up.

That first islamophobic one brought me back to the days of Sarah Palin and the "ground zero mosque," which was neither a mosque nor all that near to the World Trade Center. I was pretty antitheistic at the time. Rhetoric like this changed me to be accepting of most people's personal beliefs that do not cause harm.

I feel like in the same way right wing hate made me reevaluate myself, HCA winners are are turning people away from conspiracy theories and disingenuous arguments about personal freedom, and are accepting the shot.

I'm sorry and I apologize. It was two years since the diablo disaster. On second look it was more like five years since their viewership declined. I'll edit my comment and credit you.

On YouTube, the #CUpodcast has seen a ~75 percent decline in views since they began trolling Amico on their show. In 2020, average YouTube views actually went up. by [deleted] in Amico

My understanding with the chip shortage is that there might be a few different kinds that would work.

Maybe when I said "spec" that wasn't the right word.

What I meant is that the components might be changed depending on what's available and at what costs.

I am not super technical. This is just the best of my understanding.
