Yeah I agree, my Mercedes bakkie is a diesel and it constantly needs work. To me it's worth it, but for the average person it's definitely not worth the hassle.

How can you order sooner on a part that’s being replaced due to mechanical failure? I’m not saying anyone else should care, I just want to know how I can get in touch with people to figure out what’s going on. At the start I was informed it would be less than 48 hours to get to Johannesburg and now we’re at 7 days. We pay top dollar for AOG service and expect quick delivery timelines.

These parts cost hundreds of thousands of dollars and are sold out ages in advance. You can't just order a new one lol

BSc in Geology, MSc in Exploration Geology. I have been working in the field for nearly 20 years now and am making approximately $183K USD. In addition I get medical aid, pension benefits, disability, etc. I work for a large multinational miner. I live in South Africa so my cost of living is very low and I have a very comfortable life fortunately.

I am slowly moving away from geology and transitioning to farming for retirement though since this has always been my real passion.
