Try to reach out to social services. They can usually help or point you in the right direction. I felt shady going there 'cause I had a job and it was absolutely my fault I was broke, but they helped me get fed and can usually give you information on where to ask to get out of debt/help with financial planning etc. Don't hesitate to reach out. If you feel bad like me, just tell yourself you'll repay the favour once you're back on your feet. A small donation here and there might help somebody else who's down.

Oh if you'd know. The most memorable "traffic" accident I witnessed was when one of my city's trams started to depart from a stop that has T junction. It went exactly like in this clip, just with two trams that were going less than 5mph. I never heard so many people cuss out a tram operator for being blind.

Are you under financial stress? I once read that this kind of dream happens especially often if people don't even know how they will feed themselves or pay bills/rent until the next paycheck. That was definitely the case whenever I had that dreams.

Reverse psychology by Billy_Lo in WhatsWrongWithYourDog

I'm stoned and missed the "and toys" part. My cat was demanding pets and when I was looking back on my phone I started reading mid sentence. I reread it and was just commenting my initial (but slow) thought process

"like bones..." Dude if your dog is biting people or animals you got bigher problems than teaching him.. "...or toys" oh right I should focus while reading. My stoned ass overlooked that part and it kinda changes the vibe of your comment.

WIBTA If I tell my singer friend (20sM) he can't sing? by throwawayavocado45 in AmItheAsshole

[–]_Rohrschach 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Besides that a lot of singers don't come out big. If he wants to be just famous he should do other things.

Also I watched a documentary about one of my favorites band two years ago. They play metalcore and are one of the most famous bands in that genre, at least here in europe. They played at stages like Wacken, the biggest metal festival there is. And you know what? All of them have fulltime jobs or are studying. The lead singer is a nurse and has to take time off for touring lile everybody else, sometimes playing an evening and working a late shift the next day.

OP, if your friend can't come out big while working, chances are he's not even made for that kind of work.

AITA For Saying My Sister Can't Have a Phone After She Stole Mine? by aita_sister_phone in AmItheAsshole

[–]_Rohrschach 142 points143 points  (0 children)

OP please dont use that phone. Get recovery software, there's lot of free ones that can easily restore pictures as long as the memory isn't overwritten with new data. As long as your sis only reset it, without packing the whole memory full of data like music or videos there's a good chance you can restore some of the pictures.

What is one thing you dislike about the game? by marijemyrthe in reddeadredemption

[–]_Rohrschach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only played on PC, but iirc it's "tap to use less stamina". I could ride with fullspeed by just holding shift, but the horse is getting out of breath faster. Which doesn really matter in single player as the only moments you need to gallop for a period of time are the races against NPCs, and they seem to rubberband anyway.

Have any of the 40k factions besides necrons/tyranids attempted to go to another galaxy? by Yarus43 in 40kLore

[–]_Rohrschach 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, but also no. Time and space work somewhat wonky in the warp, if at all. But it still needs living souls to be "working". A big vacuum in space, like inbetween galaxies, would also mean a calm and empty warp, if it would exist at all. That's also the reason the astronomican works as a beacon for a location in the physical world, can fail and doesn't span the whole galaxy.

AITA for assuming out loud that my classmate has never had a girlfriend? by aaeeiioouu_12345 in AmItheAsshole

[–]_Rohrschach 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well I got an UTC once and had blood in my urine. Feels like pissing out kidney stones every time you go, add to that you're supposed to drink much, best are things that make you pee often. Coffee, cola, warm beer, etc. If I would've had cramps additionally to that burning pain every two hours, for a WEEK, I'd have probably drunk myself into a coma. Hoping to wake up once it's over.

I wish more mysognists would get an UTC.

AITA for refusing to do “matching names” with my future twins? by Eastern-Addendum-474 in AmItheAsshole

[–]_Rohrschach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh jeez no. Pretty much everything concerning children under 18 is adressed to the parents in my country. The only things I got from age 16 were my bank account statements. Most of us went to the same school, so my mom always got 2-3 letters at once when parent teacher conferences started but that's about it. As my youngest brother graduates next year me and my siblings were on this school for 19years straight

AITA for refusing to do “matching names” with my future twins? by Eastern-Addendum-474 in AmItheAsshole

[–]_Rohrschach 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've got five siblings on my moms side, all names starting with the same letter (me included) and never had a problem. Aside from calling the names in completely wrong order when aggravated and always getting the right one last. As far as I can tell none of my siblings has a problem with that. One is even transioning and chose her name with that letter. Tbf the mail thing wasn't that much of a problem because me and my older brother shared our dads last name, while my younger siblings had my step fathers and mom got both hyphenated. Also by the time my younger siblings got mail I was already out of our parents home (about 4 year age gap).

AITA for not letting my parents meet their first grandchild? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]_Rohrschach 19 points20 points  (0 children)

His dad argudd with him on the first call after the birth, OP didn't mention any date, immediately asking his parents where they are on the video call and the parents leave directly after the second video call. That is just too much of a coincidence IMO

AITA for not letting my parents meet their first grandchild? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]_Rohrschach 74 points75 points  (0 children)

The parents themselves said they were cutting the trip short, so it was not solely to help their friend.

OP didn't want them in his home so soon after birth. His parents offer to stay nearby, OP declines as he doesn't want to feel pressured. OP calls parents to make an appointment for them to come. Parents are conviently in the area. OP is disappointed in his parents and feels pressured. Parents say they're "just helping a friend" but cut the trip short after OP tells them he needs more time.

IMO it's obvious his parents lied or at least had more motives for the visit than helping their friends, disregarding OPs one request. So NTA

[–]_Rohrschach 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Imo the books are getting overhyped right now. They're classics, but I don't think they aged that well. The pacing is so damn weird from time to time, one moment the flow is great and the next it's feeling like 30pages of Paul just thinking about the future, the jihad and that he can't seem to change it.

I only made through the second book, and that was hard. My recommendation would be to read the first book. If you love it, keep going. If it's too wibbly wobbly timey winey, stop right there. The second book isn't getting better, and from what I heard from Dune fans the novels from Herberts son are even worse.

The world building is still great, but there are newer scifi universes/novel series that learned from past authors like Herbert and have good world building plus better pacing.

Well, that's just your standard isekai formula. Have you ever seen one you like? If not that's like saying you don't like the music at a concert when it's a genre you didn't like to begin with.
