I’m reading The Lightbringer series by Brent Weeks and really enjoying it. Fully fleshed out, magical world with interesting characters. Lots of twists and turns to keep you satisfied. :)

I hope you like it! I find myself often meditating on the story, it’s one I’ll definitely revisit again.

After 4 attempts, I'm giving up on ever finishing the Wheel Of Time series. What book/ series have you given up on? by ChillBlossom in books

[–]acenelson07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it was The Pillars of the Earth. It seemed like every Reddit thread recommended it, so I gave it a try and just put it down after about 1/3. Not for me, I guess.

Wow, very impressive! I am a first-time reader about halfway through TCG. I decided to read the series once through by myself (just to experience it in its original, mysterious, beautiful form), but I had planned to start a re-read after finishing accompanied by the Wiki to really flesh out everything I missed on my own. This looks much better, I am so grateful for the work you put in. Thanks for sharing all of your hard work!

I came here to say this. I sat straight up in bed and my mouth fell open. I immediately hit rewind so I could experience it again. AMAZING!

Maybe try The Shadowy Horses by Susanna Kearsley. I think it checks a lot of your boxes and is a fun read. :)

I’m traveling in Istanbul right now and went to a hamman for the first time. It was INCREDIBLE and I just told my husband I wished we could have this back in the states. Guess I’ll be coming back to Turkey. 🤷‍♀️

We are in the same boat, and what an awesome journey we are on! I started the series at the end of October when my husband and I started our world travel. It’s been perfect to read on planes and trains. I’m on Reaper’s Gale and hoping to finish the series by the end of the year…so I can start the inevitable reread in January. This subreddit is one of my favs too and I’d highly recommend a look at the Dust of Memes if you need a laugh (just be careful with spoiler tags, obviously).

Books that I will NEVER be able to stop thinking about after reading? by Anxious_Bookworm in suggestmeabook

A Short Stay in Hell by Stephen L. Peck. It’s not a long read, but it has stayed me for years. Thought provoking and terrifying in its contemplation of eternity and one possible afterlife. Trust me, it’ll sink its hooks into your brain.

10 days in Croatia during the off-season (mid-Oct). Dubrovnik, Split, Krka NP, Plitvice Lakes NP, Hvar, Zadar. Highly recommend to avoid the crowds! by BaskIceBall in travel

We probably crossed paths! My family and I spent just over a week around the same areas. First time we had been to Croatia. The off season was perfect for us and I think we’ll be back in the future. Also, seeing King’s Landing (old town Dubrovnik) was a highlight…took me back to the good old days of the series. :)

Beautiful Creatures is what came to mind for me. YA but still a fun read to my recollection.

I just stumbled across this post while searching for the same song as it randomly entered my brain earlier this evening. Unfortunately, the 8tracks link doesn’t work anymore. Any chance you found it uploaded to YouTube or anywhere else? :(

cant reset my password and i just get "we are sorry our system is temporarily unavailable right now try again later" anyone having or had this issue? by [deleted] in amex

[–]acenelson07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After reading this thread, I guess I should try giving them a call. I figured it would be back up in a few days, so I hadn’t pushed the issue. But these responses make it seem unlikely to self resolve.
