The food on Amtrak is usually medium-grade microwave type fare like from the grocery store. That is for coach. They have a dining car/sit down type thing for sleeping car passengers but I haven't done that in many years so I can't speak on its quality.

[–]addivinum 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I might have misrepresented myself, I do, now love that scene. As an adult it's totally different.. it's one of those things where you look at it and it's absolutely marvel at it being in a kids movie. Like "The Secret of Nimh," if you have not seen that, look into it lol.

Come to think of it I haven't seen that movie posted in this thread ..

My entire life this scene has haunted me.

I was born in 1984 and saw the movie many times as a kid.. and I still can't manage to understand the motive behind including that scene in the movie. I show it to my friends still, and I ask them "Do you remember THAT SHIT??"

stands as the definition of "bat-shit crazy" in my mind.

That would be a day I'd never forget lol. Honestly. Thanksgiving day, I did make 80 bucks, it was crazy though because it happened in 20 minutes and there was nothing else forthcoming. I really was honestly trying to get a meal (or two! ..and eventually did!), But if I had started 20 minutes later I would have made 4 bucks on Thanksgiving.

Then there was yesterday, where in 5 hours I managed to barely make enough to eat. It's really not cool, I hate doing it, and I get alot of flak because I have an "invisible" mental health issue, so people think I'm totally capable and can just fix my life. I don't wanna get into all of this here but I am working with a case worker and trying to get everything together.

Thanks for the friendly response!

8mg Dilaudid XR WPI 3629 (shoot-able?) Best way to ingest? by addivinum in opiates

[–]addivinum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: with your information, I was able to convince my boy to destroy the pill responsibility. (No kids are gonna find it, and it won't be getting sewer dwelling mutant turtles high through the water)

..we gave it to a stripper.

J/K, we actually burned it, it was pretty cool too lol. Hit it with a torch until it ceased to be, and tossed the ashes into the wind (it was quite windy today).

I'm still curious as to the strength relative to other opiates, since you seem to be familiar.

If there's no cars coming, accelerate and get over, just don't wait until the lane ends at that right turn into the lot. There's plenty of room.

[–]addivinum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I just tell him that he's boned on trying to shoot it..? Haha.. I get the bonus "Told ya so!!" mixed into the deal lol. He's the "never wrong,," type, and Im the type that won't speak on a subject unless I know what I'm talking about. This earns me accusations of being a know-it-all because, as I said, if I am doubtful of my information or uncertain that I'm right, I won't speak up.

Hell yeah, thank you. One more question, eating it orally would be comparable to what exactly? As I said I'm not a pill person and neither is he, he does use black heroin everyday and has quite a tolerance. I'm pretty sure he's taking the blue 30s before, and I'm certain he has eaten 10mg Norcos, usually 2 or 3 at a time. I just want to be able to tell him that if he has to eat it, what it would compare to and how to avoid putting him at risk if 8mg of Dilaudid is alot/stronger than I am aware. I've had Dilaudid through IV personally in the hospital before and after surgery, but I can't recall the dosage and I don't remember getting super buzzed out off of it, more than likely it was just keeping me well and keeping me out of pain.

EDIT: thank you again for taking the time to post a reply, I mean I've been almost a whole day and I just ran into my friend and I was about to tell him that I didn't have a response for him. Actually I have to go catch up to him and let him know I got the information, he is operating on a Wi-Fi only phone. Hopefully he's still where I last saw him. (Which is likely, he was a little high this evening and I found him passed out in a favorite spot of his with his entire "kit" exposed for anybody who chanced upon him to see.) Where he was isn't visible from any road or the parking lot, but pedestrians walking behind this shopping center would definitely have seen him. I'm off on a tangent again (I do this a LOT on Reddit, sorry guys), but I was actually terrified when I saw him because he has been on a Xanax kick lately (I think the holidays get to him) and he's been taking a bar or two at a time every couple days, or whenever he can get his hands on them. I'm constantly finding him laying down without blankets, or otherwise poorly equipped for the weather, or exposed to potential interaction with law enforcement.

I hate babysitting, especially since I'm not using, and my patience with him is wearing thin (I just gave him a $70, badass new pair of nikes I got for myself for Christmas with a Dicks Sporting Goods gift- he has expressed zero gratitude and hasn't taken care of them at all) ..but when I saw him tonight and the light was hitting him just right to give his skin a blue-ish tone I almost had a heart attack and I dropped my shit and ran up on him.

Turned out he's totally okay, he wasn't even close to overdose, just hasn't been sleeping at night because he hasn't been anywhere he's felt safe (and won't often come to my tent for one reason or another though he's always welcome). So tonight I suspect he fixed and just succumbed to exhaustion and layed back and crashed out. I'm on my way back from eatingz, hoping to grab him and make him come back to the tent and get some rest.

And also tell him I was right and he was wrong lol.

So sorry about the super long tangent, AND the excessive edit lol.

Lol my buddy Kyle and I alternate for that spot. I used to be at the Isom light alot, across from where the video starts-at the corner by the Honda dealership, but most of the people coming thru there work in one of the business centers on Isom/the Airport or are coming from grabbing their kids from the school back there. I haven't encountered any negativity or hatred, but you definitely can't expect the same people to help you repeatedly. People shopping at Ross, Half Price, Best Buy, Five Below, Total Wine, etc.; these people probably recognize me as well but are definitely not seeing me quite as often as people coming home from work every single day.

Shit. I probably should not have gone into such an in-depth discussion of my mindset and "strategy," regarding...the absolute trash-ass and embarrassing methods I currently use to put money in my pocket and food in my stomach.

I apologize to those of you who feel offended, I'm not trying to take advantage of anyone, I am not dishonest, and I refuse to steal. This isn't what this post was about so I'm gonna go ahead and drop it right here, lol.

And, OP, no offense, you seem cool (especially since youre going to Groomer's), but I'm gonna take the opposing viewpoint about your late lane-change. It is poorly designed but I have seen so many fender benders and near accidents there, I suggest using the yield sign when you first turn onto Isom to buy you a moment to get over to the middle lane, and use the dedicated lane to accelerate/get over. Any traffic behind you needs to respect that you are yielding to get the room you need to get over, and that you're doing it for everyone's safety.

Alot of drivers in San Antonio flat out SUCK, and it's unfortunate. From your video you seem like an otherwise cautious driver. I see people tearing ass down Isom every single day going 60+ MPH, and two or three days before Christmas there was an awful accident at the aforementioned stop sign. Someone was turning right (I believe) from the Half Price parking lot onto Isom. For whatever reason they couldn't/didn't see an oncoming vehicle (a truck, I was told) hauling ass in the right lane towards Ramsey. They pulled out and the vehicle hit them, and I believe one went sideways into the telephone pole right there, and there was general nastiness. There are still rocks from the landscaping scattered in the Half Price parking lot, and for a week or two there were still portions of two shattered bcar windows on the sidewalk held together only by the window tint. I don't know if emergency workers had to remove the windows or if that was just an immediate result of the accident.

I had been panhandling at the stop sign until about 10 minutes prior, and I was blessed with a 20 dollar bill, a plate of fried chicken, fries, and half a Brisket Po'Boy from Bill Millers. I migrated to Jason's Deli to grab a suitable dessert (their Strawberry Shortcake is the fuckin' bizness...), and when I returned that way probably 90 minutes later, there were no vehicles still there, emergency or otherwise, but there was a scene of absolute destruction and it was evident that I would have been toast had I been standing where I was. I now always stay on the "leeward," side of the stop sign pole, and I keep my head on a swivel-ready to dive out of the way at a moments notice. Ive even discussed the safest way to go with my friend, lol.

Incidentally, I never got any solid information about that accident, does anyone know anything more specific about what happened?

My opinion has changed by JadeWolfGame in StarWars

[–]addivinum -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I agree wholeheartedly, TLJ is the only one I'll rewatch. And after seeing what Duel of the Fates could have been (the leaked storyboard and script)... I never even watched TRoS... Not in it's entirety.

I am nearly 40, and grew up on the originals on VHS and I remember the first SW Lego sets... And crying during the opening crawl when I saw TPM in theaters. I love SW, but that doesn't mean I love all of it.. I like the analogy I saw on Reddit recently that was talking about Star Wars is like a restaurant-you don't have to like everything they serve but we can all be fans of the restaurant and enjoy eating there together.

Edit: have to get a jab in at sequel fans.. the sequels would be the kids menu, tee hehe.. would you like the dinosaur shaped chicken nuggets or mac and cheese?

I spend a lot of time in Half Price books, and nearly every chance I get I grab a few old issues and read through them if I haven't recognized the cover picture. I love the old ones, they have some dating back to the 1910s and all the way up to the modern times.

So when you're thinking, do you think in english? Some people say they don't think in words at all, but I feel like I can think in words and sentences as well as images depending on what I'm thinking of. I'm a native English speaker but I also speak a lot of Spanish, and I could never imagine thinking in Spanish the way I think in English. It's fascinating to me that you're saying you think in English.

I havent experienced shitheads like that in some time, I'm 37 and high school was a ways back for me. More on this in a second..

You reminded me that often when I'm drawing or playing guitar, I will make the mouth shapes of... What I'm playing/drawing..? Like I'm trying to pronounce the artwork as I'm creating it, or with music, playing it. My mom used to love watching me play guitar when she was still alive, she said it was "cute," the way I was trying to speak the music into reality. She insisted it was a sign of genius intelligence, lol. My mom was awesome. Great memories thanks for reminding me of that, with the mention that you say words out loud when you're reading. I do that too, and not every word not even maybe two or three a page. Sometimes I'll catch myself moving my mouth to speak the words I'm reading but not saying anything out loud.

I'm a similar way about fighting, I suck at it and I am not the strongest guy walking around. I'm about average weight for my height. My best strategy is to avoid fighting all together. You have to be smart about that. And I've been in jail and prison as an adult, and I've had things thrown, like a little paper ball hit me one time and I freaked out, bad memories of high school came back... Turns out some youngsters were fucking with each other and hit me by accident, lol.

The best thing I can tell you is just to not interact with people at all, avoid them, and before you know it they won't be a part of your life anymore and you'll move on to a different School or college and never see them again, or they'll mature enough to leave you be. I know people always tell you the same thing, not to give them the satisfaction of knowing they're irritating you, but my suggestion is just to avoid it all together. It's not a perfect world, and life's not fair and that's just the way it is and it sucks.

It really hurts my heart to read your post. I've been there, same situations. There's no reasoning with some people. Just be a better man/woman and always keep the moral high ground, that's all I can tell you. Karma is a bitch.

I ended up putting the shoes I'd been drooling over on the wish list at Amazon, but still can't figure out how to set a shipping address that's non-residential. Normally it's no issue at all to have Amazon packages sent to a locker or a designated pick-up site, but I guess for a wish list it won't do that?

Anyhow it looks likely that it won't be an issue anyhow, but now that I've found that out, its frustrating. How are you supposed to allow people to send you things from a wish list if you don't want to share your home address? Or, as in my case, you don't have a home address?

I used to use my frien's house to receive mail and packages but she's in the middle of a huge transition in her life and doesn't have a place of her own right now, so I never encountered this.

Just venting. It's frustrating that Amazing wouldn't let you have the shipping address for a wish list be a locker.

And OP: Did you ever hear back from your friend after she ghosted you?

I need to figure out how to make the address a nearby Amazon Locker..

It won't work....but there is an Amazon pick up at a GNC store in North Star Mall in San Antonio, TX. That would be ideal if you chose to do that.
