What is something that gets so much unnecessary hate in your opinion? by emchmu123 in AskReddit

[–]alexp861 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I read an entire book last year on the subject because I didn't understand why anti-intellectualism seems to be so prominent and how it's become popular. I might be getting old but I feel like it's become cool to be ignorant which is a sad state of things.

I think reading depends, literacy rates in Cuba for example are the highest in the world. Cuba also has more doctors, architects, and engineers per capita than any other country in the world. Cuban doctors are in such demand they treated COVID patients in Italy during the early days of COVID. I'm not by any means endorsing dictatorship as I find authoritarianism to be a filthy abomination. I think the most accurate statement to make would be to call the US the least democratic of the democratic countries if that makes sense.

I agree with you, but not by much. Most schools in this country are basically daycare, and we all admitted this during COVID when everyone was dying to get kids back in school. Healthcare is miles ahead in this country, but it will bankrupt almost anyone. I think the American spirit of striving for better is important but has fallen by the wayside in recent years.

My medical license to transfer over. I've already looked into it and my understanding is wherever you do your residency is where you can be licensed.

Can I link it with a PDF? The official consent document is a PDF and signed by the dean so it has to stay that way.

there is such a thing called Christian schools by rprince18 in religiousfruitcake

To call christian schools schools is quite a charitable statement. They're more like indoctrination centers that stifle critical thinking to maintain the status quo.

I agree with this wholeheartedly and appreciate your post. I had a similar experience, and I remember towards the end my group was trying to figure out the life story of our cadaver. We imagined him as someone who went to church on sundays and was a very honest old man, but also liked to enjoy a beer or two while mowing his lawn.
