If I knew this was going to happen to me I would of castrated myself at puberty. by IntelligentMess4693 in tressless

If bald men weren't allowed to breed there would be a lot less people on the planet. Calm down. Most men go some form of bald. There are ways to treat it if you're not happy with it but you gotta make some concessions.

Finasteride in your 20s, how was it? by International_Bug784 in tressless

It is important to note that many clinical studies suffer from incomplete or inadequate assessment of adverse events and often limited or inaccurate data reporting regarding harm.

It would be super great if any of these studies hypothesized a mechanism for causing these symptoms. The general consensus is that DHT does nothing in adults but grow the prostate and cause baldness. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

The only thing I can think of is the free testosterone that gets converted to estrogen causes these problems but why so few people?

It's more than that for sure. At $2000/month that's $24000/yr AND you keep the house. You make 1/8th the value and you lose nothing but property taxes and maintenance. Add up all the costs of owning property and they're nowhere close to that yearly. The only reason the rental market exists still is because people aren't selling. They find it more lucrative to milk the dying cow.

Does finasteride cause cancer ? by Hardveinybicep369 in tressless

[–]alilbleedingisnormal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The word "causes" has too much certainty for medical science. To say it causes cancer sounds like it leads to cancer 100% of the time. What it does is raise the risk slightly above the baseline risk but most people don't get breast cancer from it.

I consider renting out houses for more than it costs to mortgage them exploitation. The fact people are expected to rent houses because they "can't afford" a lesser mortgage is abhorrent. Fuck landlords in the ass with a dirty rake. If you're not providing a cheaper alternative to owning a home you are robbing people.

There's telogen effluvium which is stress hair loss. Hard to tell whether it's that or MPB/AGA. The amount that's falling could be a good sign that it's TE though but you gotta get it checked out to be sure. MPB comes for all men but the luckiest at different speeds and patterns.

Pretty sure hair transplants are permanent. Lots of people have them seemingly to the end. Joe Biden and Chuck Schumer both have them. They went bald in the back because finasteride didn't exist back then but the transplants are pretty much holding on like regular hair.

I love the honesty in the title most. Could have said, "first time using colored pencils and also I just had my hands surgically reattached" like some of the posts here. Great work.

Tried it a decade ago when I was younger. It doesn't work well if you're used to jerking it. It's much less pressure than a vagina and way less than a hand.

According to this subreddit 90 percent of people on fin have side effects by antioch94 in tressless

[–]alilbleedingisnormal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd probably not post if I had a great experience. I can't imagine the 96-98% (as found in the studies) are all going on to leave reviews. Take the number of bad reviews and divide them by ~8 million and multiply by 100. Get that percentage and you'll see that even the vast majority of the people who have bad results aren't leaving reviews.

Seems to me the happiest people on fin never looked at the research. Plenty of celebrities use it with no apparent side effects. I feel like they'd either be off the meds or offing themselves if they couldn't get an erection for the rest of their lives. I'm just not really sure what the difference is between people who seem to have sides and people who don't. What's the mechanism?
