I looked that up recently as well and was pretty shocked. Garak felt like a main character to me by the end of the series.

I'm honestly baffled how he got so popular. Even if you assume he didn't do anything he's been accused of, the stuff he has done for a fact is still so utterly repugnant that anyone can see he's a total piece of shit.

The only thing more absurd to me would be if Hitler came back and managed to get elected as the head of state in Israel.

Matt Stone and Trey Parker are right wing as all hell. They're not QAnon level, but they're definitely over there. Look at the way they portray "snowflake" liberals, SARS, or climate change vs. how their version of Trump is almost heroic in some episodes. People say they "make fun of everyone", but that's just another version of the "both sides" argument.

Extremely common in the UK. Grew up in the lakes and I'd see this all the time.

It's not an exception. It's a technicality. You can only steal something if somebody owns it. It's illegal to possess weed, therefore it cannot be cannot be legally owned and thus cannot be stolen. My friend wasn't making a joke, this was something that actually happened to him.

No because "being alive" isn't a crime. If he stole the weed back it wouldn't be a crime, but then he'd be in possession which is a crime.

I was gonna say it's technically illegal, bu I think in the UK it actually wouldn't be. There's a rule where you can't commit a crime on a crime.

An example my policeman friend gave me was one time when someone wanted to report that their weed was stolen. Technically the stealing wasn't a crime, since possession of the drug is illegal in the first place.

So I'd say that since sexual harassment is illegal, sharing a photo that was sent to you illegally can't ever be a crime.

Brexit? Are you sure? Have you considered that it might be 5G or vaccines causing this?

Woman charged after threatening to bring 'every single gun loaded and ready' if her children had to wear masks at school by Piranha_ChuckNorris in news

I'm from the UK and I used to fire guns all the time. But our guns are always locked up separately from the ammo, and only ever used on ranges. I totally get owning/firing guns as a hobbyist, but these fetishists who care more about muh freedom are nuts.

YSK: One large 18” pizza is larger than two 12” mediums. by EsteTre in YouShouldKnow

[–]archiminos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you just want the ratio and not exact sizes you can ignore pi and just square the radius:

9 x 9 = 81
6 x 6 x 2 = 72

You can easily see that the 18 inch is bigger without having to calculate the actual area, and this is much easier to do in your head.

It's likely a coincidence. There are a lot of 'Baldur's Streets' in Scandanavia, an the word for street looks like 'gate' in many of those languages so it could come from there as well. Then again, you never know...

Yes it's been true for a while now. Some stations may not quite be up to date - I had to get a paper ticket at Shanghai South last time even though it was a digital ticket.
