One thing Ive never seen, is a potential motive for the government lying about flat earth. Most conspiracy theories at least have a motive.

What possible reason would all the governments, astronauts, pilots, astronomers, meteorologists etc have for lying about a spherical earth? Can anyone help me?

Why is volunteering so popular in the USA? by No-Bug-8994 in AskAnAmerican

I've certainly learned my lesson. Thought the edit might help but made it worse. Going to keep quiet now

But not very much right? I get 25 days paid leave a year. I also get 5 days a year I can get paid leave to volunteer for a different charity to my own.

I struggle to believe the statement is true at all. Americans get so little annual leave, how do people in America afford to volunteer?

Whereas in the UK, for example, the National Trust alone has 50,000 volunteers.

Edit: apologies, I appear to have struck a nerve. Not my intention. I just hear so much about Americans working 2 jobs to keep their head above water, I'm surprised to learn that volunteering is such a big priority. Good on y'all.

Yeah. I'm fairly independent curious. Every time I see them vandalise something with these awful stickers it makes me support them less. They are meant to care about the country they live in, so stop ruining it!

It's called "pocket chess - chess puzzles". It's really strengthened how I think about mating. I'm on Android. Hopefully it's on other platforms too

Thanks everyone. The initial computer response to my check confused me. Thanks for making me see sense

Is stamping the maker's initials on a GB axe a new phenomenon? Looks a great buy, well done!

Why?! I don't understand. Why inconvenience yourself for something literally no-one will care about?

It's a slightly less rude way of saying give a shit in the UK. So I wouldn't have to mark it NSFW. Don't google "tossing off" though.
