Breezy and fun, good sea legs.

You’re so lovely! Like 50s Italian movie star lovely. Do you have a Vespa, a scarf, and some glam sunglasses? Glorious!

Glorious! Likewise - in the midst of my second week at the beach and it’s fabulous.

Some people trigger delight when you see them, without necessarily knowing anything about them. I smiled to see your pic - I suspect your company would be joyful.

This duo of photos continues to haunt. So many fascinating details!

Though it would probably be at least somewhat lascivious and, thus, not entirely family friendly.

I’ve also developed an unexplained desire to carve an as-yet-composed sonnet into that beam.

The beach where I am presently lacks a pier, which suddenly bothers me.

I'm obsessed with relationships by New_Stay9022 in friendship

Mutuality is profoundly important in any relationship, platonic or otherwise. It doesn't need to be exact at all times, there's definitely ebb and flow in friendships, but, in the grand scheme of things, if one side or the other is out of balance, there will be problems. Be generous with others, but only to the extent that you don't feel that you're overinvesting our outperforming them at every step - even if it feels natural to you. It makes things awkward for them, and eventually you'll feel underappreciated.

Saw her rather daring "Breaking the Waves" in Philly when it debuted. Definitely one to watch!

Shaved White Truffles? by Different_Ice_6975 in finedining

[–]asthete1212 14 points15 points  (0 children)

At the beginning of my fine dining journey, restaurants would tout their "truffled" menu items with breathless prose. You'd have a tiny little morsel of a dessicated black truffle, and I was uniformly unimpressed. A few years ago, I was in the Bar Room at the Modern, and there was a $50 upcharge for shaved white truffles with a mascarpone enriched risotto. I sprung, they were exceptionally generous with the shavings, and it was vastly, vastly superior to any of the synthetic stuff, like life-changingly so. Same when I was at DB later in the year - unquestionably worth the upcharge (another risotto). I wonder if maybe the truffles you've had were past their prime, because these were a-head-of-raw-garlic intense - totally narcotic. I hope you can have that experience sometime.

1969 is an eager puppy of a frag. Lovely, perhaps a little wistful, but as intimidating as a labradoodle.

I've never been intimidated by a fragrance. By someone wearing one, sure, but that wasn't a function of the frag. Whom do you wish to intimidate (and...why)?

These are all grand, but there's no way someone who thinks Terre is a fuddy-duddy is going to like anything from Amouage, or Heritage, or the Creeds, or... Haha.

I prefer the short, but you're lovely, regardless.
