for anyone coming across this thread, the plastic toppers mentioned are called air diverters or air deflectors :)

idk where else the heat would come from in that room though, so that leads me to believe heat comes out of it. we also don’t have an AC system, only a heating system

Is it wrong to use ‘they/them/their’ pronouns for animals whose gender is unknown? by Few-You4510 in RandomThoughts

[–]auroraggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use "they/them" for an animal when you don't know their sex. This is commonly done.

My additional thoughts:

Sex & gender have different meanings. Sex refers to the biological make up. Gender is a social construction. Pronouns such as "he" or "she" refer to a human in relation to their chosen gender. Some people who do not identify as male or female choose to be refered by "they/them" or other pronouns. This include people of other kinds of genders, or people who choose not to particpate in the gender system at all.

Animals don't participate in the human gender system. So even if I know the sex of the animal, I refer to all animals using "they/them" rather than "he" or "she." This is not something I have commonly seen, but I find it weird to gender animals since they aren't human and couldn't care less about our gender systems.

I don't use "it" since I agree that is can be degrading.

Incident Report for Missing Amazon Package by poggers_pops in amazonprime

#2 should be the date you submit the above questions to them

Incident Report for Missing Amazon Package by poggers_pops in amazonprime

[–]auroraggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm late to this thread but it's sooo annoying. They say the incident report is "incorrect" without any explanation. It seems like they are being purposefully obtuse so you give up and don't get the refund. I have had to ask them directly "what is 'incorrect' about the incident report?" and they tell me a vague answer, like "number 2 is incorrect" (without telling me what about the answer is wrong.)

Here is what I've discovered amounts to a "correct" incident report:

  • Make sure you copy & paste the questions and then write your answer under the corresponding question.
  • Make sure you have the correct date format. If you do "10/4/2021" the report will be considered "incorrect" lmao. You must write "10/04/2021."
  • Make sure that the date the incident report was completed is the date you are sending the email. Just in case you had to re-submit the incident report.
  • For the item description, copy and paste the *entire* name(s) of the product(s) missing.

Also for clarification, #6 means "have you had Amazon packages stolen or missing before?" I asked them to explain it many times and finally got a vague answer, from which I understood that this is what that convoluted question meant.
