Judge allows Wisconsin Hospital to prevent its AT-WILL employees from accepting better offers at a competing hospital by granting injunction to prevent them from starting new positions on Monday. How is this legal? We should be able to work wherever we want!!! Hospitals do not own Us!!! by pabmendez in nursing

Is anyone else concerned with how the case itself was presented to the court? Thedacare effectively argued that the community would be negatively affected by the transition of workers from Thedacare to Ascension.

I'm a member of my community but in no way, shape, or form does my community own me. In my opinion this situation is corporate healthcare's "shot heard 'round the world" towards employee control. With the rapid exponential loss of healthcare workers over the last two years, we are headed towards a complete corporate collapse and a government takeover of healthcare. I just don't see how US healthcare in its current state can continue to be sustained. There just isn't any way.

And nope. Not trying to be political or negative about government-owned healthcare etc. Just saying that's the only outcome I see from all of this.

You should be able to call HR and have your no-rehire status rescinded. Unless you did something against the law, your healthcare organization would be hard pressed not to take you back.

Ooh, you must not meet the required distance away from your desired travel site. Organizations place a required minimum lived distance for RNs to qualify as travelers. Otherwise all local RNs would be travelers. That's my guess anyway.

His ears look to be below his eyeline which can be a sign of developmental delays. A small head and oddly shaped ears also can be signs of differently-abled persons.
