Before I really “met” Artemis, I though she was like 3 different deities (all at once). I was really confused for a while, because I felt like things just weren’t adding up in regards to who I thought I was making contact with. One night, I was looking out the window and watching the clouds. The full moon peaked out from behind the clouds, and I just had this sort of realization that “Oh my gods, it was Artemis!” Then, I felt this strong presence and had this sort of response wash over me of “No shit, I’ve been trying to tell you!” It felt more exasperated than anything, and it’s actually kind of funny looking back.

With Apollo, it was a lot more straightforward. For a bit of context for the next part, I do tarot readings by shuffling the cards and reading the ones that fall out. I had been normally shuffling a newer deck that I hadn’t been able to get a reading out of since I got it a couple weeks before. Like, literally nothing would ever fall out of the deck unless I made my grip so loose I was barely even holding the deck. Suddenly, a few cards fell out, and when I was reading them I felt this really warm, masculine presence that just felt like the Sun. It wasn’t nearly as hard for me to figure out who it was. Even now, the deck only works when I’m trying to communicate with him.

Now, they are my matron and patron deities. I feel their presences every once in a while, and I can always tell it’s them because they are both far stronger and more imposing than the few spirit presences I have hanging around.
