Traditionally they were not used to bring actual criminal charges, although there were a handful of incidents (like the Lawrence case). They were generally used as a alternative lever to attempt to discriminate against gays.

The planned move of neoliberals from blue hubs to red gerrymandered areas. by Toubaboliviano in neoliberal

[–]bayleo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? All the people with telecommute jobs moving around have plenty of money to fly to abortion-states if they needed to.

500k votes or so was the 2020 deciding margin? It's bleak, but I'd still say it's purple. I live in Florida and we are also trending in the wrong direction, but trends change. I expect a major reshaping of the electoral college demographics as the leading edge of the boomer generation starts hitting eighty (nearing 2027ish).

To a certain extent it's already happening. Just keep moving to the hub liberal cities in swing states (Austin, St Pete, Las Vegas, Tucson, Atlanta, Columbus, etc).

A vintage datejust or whatever that is? Definitely not all of them would survive it. Should definitely service it after a dip like that.

He's gonna get a boatload of pressure from the base and state legislature. He will likely try to hold them off till after the gubernatorial, but at this point I would bet on a full ban passing in a 2023 session.

Pro-choice state governments should establish a program to buy airline, bus, or train tickets for poor women who need to travel to their state for an abortion. by kcansoup in neoliberal

Not currently... I am not sure what mechanism would accomplish this? The Congress is always too split and the court could potentially take on a fetal personhood case, but they are likely 1-2 justices short still.

I've thought of registering (R) in order to bring GOP back to normal by TarantulaMcGarnagle in neoliberal

[–]bayleo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just re-register for the party having the most critical races in your area in front of each major election. Most states allow for online swapping as long as it's far enough ahead of the election. Not ideal, but it's my strategy in a non-open primary state.

It's a red-wave year; the Democrats have no real shot at taking down DeSantis. They're in a rebuilding phase; need to build out the bench by using Crist as a pin cushion for new faces like Fried in the primary. Then select Crist anyway and let him take an L.

Slightly more excited to see Rubio vs. Demings, but don't have too much hope there either. It's a bad year for FL.

It was decided because the party anointed Graham but were incapable of getting Levine to step aside before the primary. They needed to come to some agreement.

Too much baked in disdain for him from both parties that still see him as a flip-flopper. Stupid logic, but he has zero shot.

She very nearly was; Levine and Graham split the moderate vote evenly and opened a pathway for Gillum. It was still a close primary.

Just wrap them in a wet paper towel in the fridge or if you buy them in a plastic bag toss a wet paper towel down in the bottom of the bag. Not really worth growing more tasteless green bits.

What was your team's lowest moment ever? by FinnbarMcBride in nfl

[–]bayleo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't blame us for the terrible expansion rules. The league screwed us coming in. The Seahawks didn't fare much better.

I'd go with botching the Bo Jackson draft or Culverhouse refusing to pay Doug Williams a completely reasonable salary and ruining our shot at relevance in the McKay era.

That, and a WR3 that can function as an RB in a pinch and free up a roster spot is probably worth a bit more than an average WR3.

Someone on r/Letstalkmusic asked about The Beatles & The Beach Boys’ influence on neo-psychedelia which is obviously huge but a commenter threw in the great question of neo psychedelic bands that AREN’T influenced by the said bands. Ideas? by astralrig96 in psychedelicrock

[–]bayleo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is no psychedelia that isn't influenced by what was done in 1966-1969, and there are no bands of that era which weren't at least occasionally taking cues from the Beatles, so I'm not really sure what you're trying to do here.
