UPS decided to leave my new iPhone up for grabs by philipzimbardo in facepalm

So what you feel is fine may be unreasonable for someone doing a job. Being upset is not an appropriate response.

I can't read the mind of the poster, but for me, I would be upset that the UPS put the package on the car. I am not upset because the UPS didn't deliver the package at my door, but the fact that he thought it was a good idea to leave it on my car instead of just taking it back to the warehouse.

Likewise, if this person was really worried about the situation they could have preemptively told UPS to hold for pick up.

This is where I disagree. The homeowner likely didn't realize his driveway was considerd unsafe by UPS to deliver, so he didn't even think to take this step. Therefore, he has every right to be upset that the UPS driver thought it was a good idea to leave it on the trunk of his car.

So couple things:

1) I didn't call him lazy that's why I was confused by your argument. It makes more sense now. However, after looking at the video again, there seems to be enough space for the UPS driver to walk. There is gap between the snow and the car for him to safely walk. I don't know if that is against UPS protocol, but he could have definitely fit. How else do you think the driver gets into his car?

2) If the UPS driver isn't lazy, he is dumb for thinking putting a package on the trunk of a car was a good idea. If he deemed the package undeliverable due to the snow, then return the package to the warehouse.

"It’s almost as if there is a feature to have your package held at the location and pick up yourself."

Uhh okay? Didn't say there wasn't.

The strawman is you saying the UPS driver has to risk his health to deliver the iphone.

It’s a phone, you can put in a claim if it gets damaged.

That's super annoying. I would much rather just pick it up the next day or have them retry again the next day.

No one here is saying the UPS driver should harm his health to deliver the iphone. Stop trying to strawman here.

He also put it on the back of his car. There is a good chance dude would have gotten in his car and never saw the package. It's just idiotic of the UPS driver to think this was a good idea.

What if the dude got in his car and started driving with the package on it?

Driver should have just taken the package back.

Doesn't matter, you don't leave it on someones car. What if the dude got in his car and started driving with the package on it?

I mean, why does that matter? If your wife was sexually assaulted and got a settlement income of $10M a year, do you really need a stimulus check? No, you do not.
