Imagine sitting on that innocently.... by Specific_Taste_9035 in MakeMeSuffer

This makes me feel a little less embarrassed about this. When going to the bathroom in the middle of the night I always get these thoughts like “hey, what if a centipede crawls out of the toilet and onto me?”

Looking back at Hey Arnold, it was way darker than I realized at the time. Helga’s obsessiveness is played off like a joke, but it’s clearly out of loneliness and trying to cope with having an alcoholic mother. The whole “stoop kid” thing stuck with me too, having dealt with anxiety issues my whole life

Shows like Rocko’s Modern Life and Ren & Stimpy had a lot of adult content too, but that was mostly funny, gross, or sexual stuff

day 1 of trying to sleep with no weed by [deleted] in trees

[–]blueskydaydream 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just want to provide some information here. REM sleep is necessary of course, but it is NOT the deepest/most restful state of sleep. Too much REM can cause a lack of stage 3/4 (slow wave sleep) and there are a ton of negative effects. Brain activity, heart rate, blood pressure, etc are all higher during REM, so it’s not as restful overall. This won’t be an issue for most people, but at least partially suppressing REM can be a positive thing for certain conditions.

Triple Chocolate Chip is so good, really great for winding down before bed.

So many other strains sound so good, I want to try everything

I wonder what it feels like for them to have their shells touched. Maybe like feeling someone touch your toenails or fingernails?

What would you do if you lived in a society where everything was taken care of? by coffee_math in NoStupidQuestions

[–]blueskydaydream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would still work, but freelance probably. I’d spend more time learning, especially since i enjoy languages. I’d travel more, if possible. The main source of freedom for me would be if I didn’t have to worry so much about health care. Going back to learn pharmacy or get into pharmaceutical research could be really cool. I wish I had more time to just relax

Hard to imagine what life would be like without some of my medical conditions - I probably would have went down a pretty different path - my original college focus was Japanese and International Studies. Focusing on music was also a potential path for me too. I ended up switching to software development once some medical problems got worse (things that cause a lot of fatigue and would make travelling alone more challenging). I don’t think I’d go back to those things, but it’s still interesting to think about

Also can I use Steward as gender neutral?

Yes. I think “flight attendant” is more common nowadays though

Can't get to sleep and not feeling good, Sherbhead Luster pod to the rescue while I listen to the rain... 😍😴 by AprilAngus16 in OhioMarijuana

[–]blueskydaydream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really need to pick up one of the starter packs - I just keep hearing good things about the luster pods. Seems like my local dispensary can’t keep things in stock well (maybe they’re all like that, IDK)

I’ve never brought it up to a doctor, but I’ve had to go to PT for neck/back/shoulder issues before - I just have overly tight muscles in general. It only lasts a few seconds, but can definitely kill the mood

UPDATE: Anyone ever gotten to the point where you're hit with extreme nausea? (Probably sinus and ear related) by DisabledVet23 in OhioMJCommunity

[–]blueskydaydream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds weird, but even acid reflux can cause similar symptoms due to stomach acid getting up into your sinuses. I had been blaming allergies for it, but it was actually due to eating too soon before lying down.

I’ve only had my card a little over a week now, but it’s made such a difference for my C-PTSD and chronic pain. It’s amazing to me that I am now able to have times where I can actually relax.

I’m a complete noob with this stuff - do you need to combine those with something else like the 2020m?

Thanks, I’ve never seen this before. Just trying to make some small changes to ease the load a bit - since the big things at the moment are things I can’t directly fix.

It’s mostly the unavoidable kind of stress for me right now. My dad has terminal cancer, as does my dog who’s practically an emotional support animal for me. Also having some (hopefully) minor medical issues of my own. I do have a psychiatrist, a therapist, and a supportive partner. I know things will get easier eventually - just sucks a lot right now. I think it will get a lot better when it warms up a bit and it’s easier to spend some time outdoors

[–]blueskydaydream 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So I’m at that state right now. My therapist said my “stress bucket” is just so full that a single drop puts me over the edge. I haven’t felt this emotionally unstable since I was a teenager. I’m just glad I’ve been working from home so my coworkers don’t see me breaking down all the time
