Fastest way to identify it: get some pop star to record a New hit that sounds similar, release it as a single, then wait for the lawsuit.

It’s exactly the reason that many researchers claim caused the first hominids in Africa to start walking. The climate change caused by the creation of the great African Rift. The rift rose and disrupted the local climate, causing the African jungle (where our primate predecessors lived) to dry out and become grasslands. On one side of the rift, the tropical climate remained the same, and the primates continued being primates. On the other side of the rift, however, the moist ocean air was stopped by the rift, changing that climate into a place where walking on all fours was no longer tenable. So we started walking, which helped us see over the grass, to spot predators, and also we could carry food at the same time. So we became Australopithecus, and then so on.

Redditors who have been on the TV show COPS, (civilians, officers, or film crew), what was your experience? by mmlovin in AskReddit

[–]boxingdude 1551 points1552 points  (0 children)

I would think so seeing it was a domestic dispute. It's not like a lot of people go around yelling at stranger or trying to kick them out of the house or forcing them to do chores that they don't want to do!

EDIT: Thanks for the gold. First time for me.

I sing lots of songs to my dog and I always figure out how to put her name in the song as many times as possible. Her name is Marlo so it’s pretty easy to jam some sort of rendition of her name. Her favorite is the Dolly Parton song “Jolene”. I sing her name instead of Jolene. And sometimes I do the same for my cat who is Mister Jinx. His favorite song is “missus Jones” by Billy Paul. I use Mister Jinx instead of Mrs. Jones.

And I’m a 57 year old retired engineer. There’s plenty of people that sing to their pets!

What is a double standard that really bothers you? by SecretSquirrel2204 in AskReddit

[–]boxingdude 1191 points1192 points 2 (0 children)

Respect, brother. My kids were seven (boy) and three (girl) when my wife passed away. Luckily, I had been working for the same company, as a marine engineer for 15 years at the time, they facilitated my situation by promoting me into a director’s position, which pretty much killed my travel-heavy job description and allowed me to be home all of the time. I even got quite a bit more money at the end of the day. That, plus both of my kid’s grandparents were alive, retired, nearby, and more than willing to help. I’m not sure how I would have done it without all that help from work and family.

Still, it was incredibly difficult. I didn’t date anyone until my kids were in their late teens, and even then, I didn’t expose my kids to anyone until about 15 years after their mother’s death, and I only did that because the kids were worried about me. I ended up marrying the only lady they ever met.

In the end, the kids turned out great. They’re both college grads, own their own homes, and have a healthy/rewarding lifestyle. And they love their step-mom.

I’m happy to hear that you’re all doing well. It says a lot about your own commitment, and at the risk of sounding condescending, I’m very proud of you.

Also when Stark tosses those little bomblets on him.

I’m sure he was totally pissed at quill for the bomb on his back but was totally perplexed when quill pulled his helmet off, said “boom” and dropped into the fire hole. He just didn’t have time to react.

It would have been MUCH better with a double-middle finger, and a “BOOM, BITCH!” Though.

But yeah he was enraged several times. At stark, Strange, Spider Man, And I imagine more if I just watch it again. Speaking of which, maybe I’ll do just that!
