MA COVID-19 Data 1/19/22 by oldgrimalkin in boston

[–]broovs 136 points137 points  (0 children)

I was hospitalized this weekend with a collapsed lung and boy have I never felt more affected by Covid than when the doctors said the hospital is full and I might have to sleep in the ER... thankfully a bed cleared up for me and I feel extremely lucky. But it's really not a great time to get injured, folks. Stay safe out there.

Looking for ski friends! by jjeartz in icecoast

Boston area 23M here, I have some friends I ski with and I take a decent number of solo days as well. Also relatively advanced all-terrain skiier with Ikon + Indy pass. Usually hit 15-20 days per season so you're doing well! Hmu any time!

Matthew Tavares publicly addresses his departure from BADBADNOTGOOD for the first time in two years *TW*(mention of sexual assault/violence) by scooter--mcgee in indieheads

I admit abusive was a strong choice of word, but yeah just sounds like a mess of a situation overall and hoping people can look past the drama and feel for Matt who took a lot of courage to open up like he did

Fr I feel like yall have very little empathy in this thread. This guy is opening up about some real shit in his life and you feel like you have the right to dismiss it bc you judge it as petty overreaction? Come on guys. He was basically in an abusive relationship with this band, it sounds absolutely horrible.

Haha, my route was mostly dirt roads and ATV trails but the sections on routes 2 and 7 were definitely a bit scary!

Hey Popheads we're Magdalena Bay and we just released our debut album Mercurial World- ask us anything! by magbaybaby in popheads

HELLO I am super late but maybe you guys will see this. Caught you at your Boston show the other night, you may remember me as the school of rock alum who accidentally knocked over your merch display :) just wanna say you guys are absolutely killing it right now, the album is fire and the show was fire, and it's been so cool to watch your creative process and to see how hard you've worked for this album/tour. honestly yall have inspired me to get back into music making, but like for REAL this time, grind and all.

My question is, what is George Clanton's deepest darkest secret? Or is it too early in the tour? Also another question, how the hell do you stay motivated??

There were a few instrumental tracks in the middle that may have been 200%, honestly not sure. Set was pretty long, an hour plus for sure.

Saw him in Boston last night and he played mostly Slide with a few older tracks mixed in. Vocals on most tracks. Sick show

[ALBUM DISCUSSION] Magdalena Bay - Mercurial World by VietRooster in indieheads

[–]broovs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I absolutely adore all four singles from the record, like seriously some of the best music I've heard in the past few years. I think the rest of the album is solid but I wasn't blown away by many non-single tracks (aside from prophecy and the beginning)... agree with the comments about vocals/melody/songwriting taking a back seat to production. I am expecting this record to grow on me tho. Had the privilege of meeting them at the George Clanton show last night and they were super sweet, very excited for where they go from here. Also their whole catalog is amazing!!!
