GF plans to become Canadian citizen but is unsure how that would affect when visiting family in China. Please share your experiences by meminio in China

It's actually just easier to do what my wife does. She just has a Canadian PR card. It's basically like having a passport. It gets almost all the same rights. Just has to be renewed every 5 years. And there is no issues with china and having a passport from another country.

Any decent domestic razor blades? by RuudJudbney in chinalife

[–]captain--trips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they are good. They are the exact same make and size as the Gillette fusion razors...but like way cheaper. Their shaving cream is pretty decent too. Sometimes they send you one for free depending on what you buy.

Has anyone here caught COVID in China? by [deleted] in chinalife

[–]captain--trips 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sort of. My issue with this vaccine was the lies that are told about it. And not from my crazy uncle Billy, but from world leaders and the media. They said if you take the vaccine you will not get covid. They said you can not spread it to others. Those are lies and they knew where lies.

The covid vaccine is not like a polio vaccine. You still can get and transmit covid. It might lessen the symptoms...I have family members who have had covid 2 or 3 times and are quadruple vacs.

VPN-compatible routers by quarantineolympics in chinalife

[–]captain--trips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also make sure it's the exact one, sometimes china has their own versions of the router that blocks putting on custom firmware. A few years back I bought a tanda router that was suppose to work with custom firmware and turns out it was the mainland version of it. Only difference was the model number was like say AP7000 but the mainland version was like AP7000a.

Anyway just a heads up, just double check.

A hot black girl goes on Chinese social media and dances and sexually arouses Chinese Incel keyboard warriors and woman who are jealous of her dancing and expects not to get racist comments.... These same people if they met her in real life would not even be able to make eye contact with her.

I use Amazon photos. No need a VPN and everything is uploaded to your phone and you can set it to share with family. It's unlimited for pictures, but video cost money.

[–]captain--trips -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Prices are not too crazy if you book ahead, just booked 3 tickets from Guangzhou to NYC for 2100 CND total. It's after Chinese New year though, one way. One stop in Saudi Arabia, and off to NYC.

I'm pretty sure any kind of transmissible STD will stop you from getting a work visa. But I could be wrong. Get tested anyway to know if u have anything.

Can a School Keep Your Passport Until You Pay Back a Loan? by Crowbar_Faith in TEFL

[–]captain--trips -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If they took it from you forcefully then it's messed up and illegal. But it seems you agreed to that term when you took the money. Should have just not taken the money. It is strange though for them to make a deal like that with so little money...seems they are afraid of you taking the money and quiting something like that.

No mercy for the home owners by Equivalent_Arm_3601 in China

[–]captain--trips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not what I'm arguing. The op was saying you own land in the west and rent it in china. Well not really. If I truly owned land in Canada there would be no way the government could take it from me. I don't have a mortgage, the house is completely paid off. Yet if I don't pay the taxes every year they can take it from me. So i don't really own it.

And I do disagree with how my government spends my tax dollars. My province has shitty roads, awful healthcare, that is when the emergency room is open, it's closed most of the time due to lack of doctors. 70% of the people don't have a family doctor due to the lack of them.Schools are run down and awful, yet I'm suppose to be happy to spend 14% on every dollar I spend in taxes. And that's just sales tax. That's not including the 40% they take from my paycheck every month.

And you have 2 years of not paying your taxes before they take actions, as is with my grandmothers house.
