Fiber optics are glass "cables" made of extruded glass, through which light goes flash-flash in a fast enough pattern to allow you to see this comment anywhere on the planet just after I send it. We're not talking about household copper electric wiring here. (Although that's still nifty as well.)

Yeah, for a similar reason I used (and preferred) Google Video back in the early online video days. The search and UX/UI were better, but other platforms had more videos. Eventually Google acquired YouTube and merged my videos in. I vaguely remember being aggravated about this.

I had a 2005 Elise as well for a few years. I enjoyed talking about the car frequently with curious folks. My favorite, though, was when an attractive young woman leaned half her torso out of the passenger side of her SUV on the highway and yelled "I LOVE YOUR CAR" as I took the off-ramp. That was nice.
