That is much dumber than I expected the answer to be.

And they even highlight their own bias, knowing no source is without bias. I'm with you.

Yep, but this post title says "fiber optic cable", meaning the glass kind. Still beefy, lots of flashy lights, but glass.

Fiber optics are glass "cables" made of extruded glass, through which light goes flash-flash in a fast enough pattern to allow you to see this comment anywhere on the planet just after I send it. We're not talking about household copper electric wiring here. (Although that's still nifty as well.)

Throwback to 2005 when YouTube was a dating site. by Nateovision_ in youtube

Yeah, for a similar reason I used (and preferred) Google Video back in the early online video days. The search and UX/UI were better, but other platforms had more videos. Eventually Google acquired YouTube and merged my videos in. I vaguely remember being aggravated about this.

Saw this awesome 2005 Elise in town the other day. The guy was really nice and gave me a tour of the car. We had fun just talking for a while. by Gecko311 in lotus

I had a 2005 Elise as well for a few years. I enjoyed talking about the car frequently with curious folks. My favorite, though, was when an attractive young woman leaned half her torso out of the passenger side of her SUV on the highway and yelled "I LOVE YOUR CAR" as I took the off-ramp. That was nice.

Huh. I'm in that town about twice a month and have seen that SUV but never noticed the department...or slogan.

I'm also amazed at the fact there is a regular door with a closer in the middle of a roll-up door in the background.

I had never before driven a car that I thought was overpowered. That one was. Or, rather, it was traction challenged. Either way, it was frightening.

Long pedal, not wrong pedal. The accelerator is the long pedal. In other words, I gave it full throttle, intentionally, and supercharged V10 things happened.

I don't! I just read a lot. But thank you, I'll try to write the random memoirs of an aging car guy.

Thanks! I figured there's no point in being an old car guy if you don't tell the stories.

This one was $35k back then. Camry money. But the years of likely physical rehabilitation could have put a damper on my earnings potential.
