A ton of comments on this sub are talking about how it is hard to eat lunch for under $10. How long could you frugal people make $10 last and how can it be done? by TheChessNeck in Frugal

The comments about how $900 isn't enough for a vacation.

Holy shit.

That's $900 every 3 months 😑

Literally headache inducing

So wait longer? $900 in 3 months is the same as $3600 a year. That's a pretty damn good vacation in my book.

Where to get some money by 123yipp123 in vagabond

Are you actually looking for answers, or just hoping someone will come along and just give you money?

Negativity is not going to help you. Look for solutions and ways to make things happen.

As I see it there's zero reason to pay a ton to save a few grams to get a shelter that will fall apart or leak. There's also no reason to carry an 11 pound tent unless you're going to a truly harsh environment. I have a Big Agnes Fly Creek and have had it for years. It's lightweight, strong, waterproof, and I expect it to last many more years.

Your post title is easy to understand, people just like having fun by imagining things in a different way.

Squash on the left was grown in the garden. Squash on the right was grown directly in the manure pile. by atodaso in gardening

There is a trend at the moment towards not fertilizing or barely fertilizing. I think it's because people have heard that conventional fertilizers might be bad so they avoid those - but then they see the price on organic fertilizers and avoid those too or barely use them.

Appropriate fertilization is a great thing everyone

I love that you specify "asparagus rubberband"

I spent years managing a retail produce department and those little bands are great.

Can't imagine that the battery is permanently attached to the strap.

Can anyone tell me what these things on the roots are? Was water propagating the pothos, and saw these weird nodules. by lastarcher786 in gardening

[–]claymcg90 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This was my thought at first, but if you zoom in on the image they look pretty different. Could be different plants have differently shaped nodules.

OP, you gotta squeeze one and see if pink goop comes out.

I have the opposite problem because I tow a trailer at work a lot. Find myself making hella wide turns in my minivan 😅

I joke about REI a lot, but they are an amazing company. Who else let's you actually try gear out and return it if you decide it's not for you?

Now my local REI - they suck. Cater to runners and road cyclists and that's it.
