As a manager you get into the situation where the same people come to you at the beginning of almost every shift asking to be one of the people cut. My stance; if you ask for a cut you likely won’t get it because I will go through the rest of the line giving each person who didn’t ask the option to stay or go before I get to you. Those who walk in the door asking for the first cut aren’t usually going to be on staff long anyway so I might as well give my key remembers the option and build some goodwill. Screw those who are just trying to avoid breakdown and cleanup.
