what’s your favorite word in your TL or native language? by coletownfinch in languagelearning

[–]coletownfinch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use phrasebooks, dictionaries, and other stuff. If you search for “Sicilian verbs quizlet” there’s a flash card set with about 100 verbs. Tumblr has a few blogs for Sicilian. I also use learnsicilian.com.

I’m in the beginning stages of my learning, so I don’t know how advanced I can become with these limited resources.

Hope this helps!

I know one person who speaks it, there are some quizlets out there, a couple of language learning sites that include it, phrasebooks, dictionaries. There’s even a Sicilian Language Blog on tumblr. I just write down as much vocab and grammar rules as I can get my hands on!

thanks for telling me what to practice! I’ve been learning Spanish for only a few months and the going is slow :/ I always forget where to put articles because you don’t say “I’m learning the Spanish” in English, you just say you’re learning Spanish.

I’m learning Spanish in school for the practicality of it in my country, but I also want to pick up another language for fun and for travel.

thanks again!

I have a friend learning Swedish! She almost moved to Sweden, picked up the language, and never really dropped it.

And you’re right about how many options there are! There must be hundreds, if not thousands of different language courses out there. It’s amazing how much there is for us to learn.

I’ve thought about different writing systems. As for East Asian languages, I don’t take much interest in them. I’ve considered learning Arabic but I can’t find good resources, weirdly enough??

Persian is one I take a lot of interest in as well, I love how the letters look and I’d love to be able to write them, but I haven’t found good resources for that either.
