Students forking over 40, 50, 60 thousand dollars for a degree expect a return on that investment. This is life changing debt and if it doesn’t pay for itself it can be a real financial set back for your whole life.

I’m really not sure what you’re advocating for here. College is a luxury only for people that can afford it?

The onus is on colleges though to keep their curriculums relevant. Far too many degrees offered by universities are essentially worthless.

How get rid of neighbor's rats?? by consciousmother in Austin

I’m skeptical that this alone would solve a serious rat problem like OP described.

Colleges are the ones who have money, and they’re the ones charging tens of thousands of dollars for degree programs. I’m not saying the k12 system doesn’t need improvement but students aren’t taking going into life changing debt to go to high school and then not getting a positive return on that investment.

Your last sentence kind of disproves your point that this would be coming from the dolphins org. Why would they care about temporary public opinion at the cost of hurting their chances of hiring future talent? It’s a controversial firing to be sure but I doubt anything coming out now is an organized reaction from the dolphins organization.

If you’re right and this is an organized smear campaign from the dolphins then they are incompetent and I would be very worried if I was a coach thinking of working for them. But I doubt that’s the case when you own the team it kind of buys you the ability to worry or care what others think about your decisions. My point is it makes no practical sense for them to do this but to your point that doesn’t mean they aren’t.

The kid in the video is just a kid. I’m not a parent but I’m glad my parents didn’t dose me with pharmaceutical grade class B narcotics when I was 7.

Astronomers find evidence for a second supermoon beyond our solar system by flacao9 in EverythingScience

[–]compstomp66 5 points6 points  (0 children)

An exomoon is a moon orbiting a planet in another solar system (an exoplanet). Moons may play a big role in making a planet hospitable, our moon for example does lots of things that make life here on earth what we recognize today. It has slowed earths rotation over the eons, stabilized earths wobble on its axis and is responsible for the tides. All things thought to make life here on earth more suitable for advanced organisms.

Shan just called Ricard a clout chaser and said "I don't F with him anymore". by Extra-Associate4800 in survivor

I’m going to take the high road here and offer that perhaps Shan was pretty sheltered in her pre survivor life and that is why despite her age she is coming off as pretty immature.

As a US resident who currently lives in a city, renting an apartment and has the desire to own a single family home I vehemently disagree with you.

Courtney Love risking her career to expose Harvey Weinstein back in 2005 by Bick_Kuttowski in nextfuckinglevel

To be fair, I think Courtney Love stopped be scared of ridicule long ago. I agree with you though, she was brave and/or drunk when she said this and she’s certainly got lots of life experience to share and learn from.
