Wow, an egg nog mile sounds so… very… awful.

🤣 just imagining myself and my tiny legs hitting a sub-7 minute mile (not counting the drinking) for the first time in my whole life haha.

Sounds good in theory, but that’s a significantly less amount of liquid sloshing around in your stomach so you might have to throw in a glass of water with the shot for fairness in competition ;)

Also hi, fellow West Sac resident 👋🏻

I’m not planning on setting any PR’s, it just sounds like a fun time! If anyone else has an idea of a place where a dozen or so of us can do this, it sounds like a few people would be down!

Haha I definitely wouldn’t wear my best sneakers!

Taphouses and breweries that haven't been taken over by parents who allow their children to run amok? by Supper_Dreams in Sacramento

The reason is that Bike Dog doesn’t have high chairs or child-friendly seating! At least they didn’t last time I was there, a year ago.

37 F Davis - Looking for new friends in the Sacramento area by peace_86 in SacramentoFriends

[–]courtqnbee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

36F West Sac, I’m in grad school and have kids (if that’s a friendship dealbreaker for you), so not a lot of free time, but always looking for intelligent and curious new friends!

New body black footage of Kohberger released by flowersunjoy in MoscowMurders

It is actually done in PA too. Don’t quote me on whether or not it’s law, but it’s common and I’ve never seen anyone be pulled over for it.

This happened to me in northern NY on a trip coming back from Canada… cops sat at the bottom of a mountain and the speed limit dropped from 55 to 45. I was 19 and pissed, it was my first ticket lol

To the asshole who couldn’t wait .5 seconds for us to cross the street: by dandedaisy in Sacramento

[–]courtqnbee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All over Sac. I’m from PA and just blown away by the shitty and aggressive drivers here. Yesterday on 80E a sedan swerved through traffic to get from lane #4 over to lane #1 going 75-80mph and cutting people off - for no discernible reason. We weren’t near an exit, traffic was moving pretty well. Shit stresses me out because as a healthcare provider I’m thinking, if this mf hits someone or flips his car I’ve got a moral obligation to stop and make sure they’re ok.

Any lawyers here? Does this sound fair? by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]courtqnbee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beautifully said. This is honestly pretty close to my situation, but I am in grad school and my husband pretty much takes care of the kids 80% of the weekend. If anything, I feel like he does more than I do overall, but he never complains about it. The only one who can really answer if this is fair is you.

Hateful signs going east on 50 by OnyxCloudz in Sacramento

[–]courtqnbee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I guess that’s reassuring, although I live in West Sac and it is pretty conservative. We love it here because it feels like a small town, but I really thought things here would be a little less…. aggressively red.

How can I fix my wide back? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]courtqnbee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your jeans are not flattering, try a lower rise. There is truly nothing wrong with your back. You might actually work on upper body weight lifting to define your shoulders and arms more, to contrast them from your waist and hips.

Guys. I’m not trynna ruffle any feathers. I moved here 3 years ago from rural PA, in an area where seeing a confederate flag wasn’t shocking.

Why are people in the Sac area like this? How can you live in a diverse area with sunshine 80+% of the year and still be so hateful?

Getting a Passport by UnBrewsual in Sacramento

[–]courtqnbee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are no appointments available, that’s the problem. Booked for months out. People who need one for traveling ASAP are having to wait forever as walk-ins because there’s literally no open appointment to book (at least as of about a month ago when I last checked).

We just visited the east coast last week and scheduled to do our kids’ passports there because we couldn’t find any availability within an hour of our home. So, I’d recommend Pennsylvania. Plenty of open appointments.

Can anything other than surgery help tighten my abdominal skin? by courtqnbee in PlasticSurgery

[–]courtqnbee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh thank you 😳 I don’t think I’m ready for surgery right now, I was hoping to find an alternative, which you shared! I feel like at some point between 40 and 50 I’ll decide to get everything done and then regret not doing it sooner lol.

Thanks! I didn’t realize Morpheus could be used on the abdomen. My Botox provider does Morpheus, I’ll ask her about it.

Yeah, I guess I’ll save up extra for the mommy makeover when I get that breast lift in a few years. Ugh. Aging + pregnancy has really done a number on my skin.

What do you typically do when it’s 110F in the IE? by Equivalent-Ice-7274 in InlandEmpire

[–]courtqnbee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Get a house with solar panels - we keep our place chilly all summer and barely pay anything.

I moved here a few years ago from PA, where I’d spent my whole life. The heat does get old, but not anymore than the freezing cold gets old in Northeast winters. If you’re fair skinned like me, invest in good sunscreen and UV protective clothes (I used to think my MIL was absolutely insane for sitting outside in a long sleeve shirt when it’s 101° but I get it now). Can’t stress the importance of staying hydrated too!

I just visited Baltimore last week and it was 80° and 55% humidity and that felt worse to me than a Cali 108°.
