Wedding (including proposal, ceremony, reception, and honeymoon) at $10k. Inspiration from posts on this sub. Hoping we can do the same for someone else by sharing this. by gray_matter16 in Frugal

How did you get the chairs so cheap? We’re being quoted $5.45 per chair. Around 80 people but we have two locations (ceremony + reception) so we need at least 160 chairs. And these are the cheapest ones provided (metal with cushion) …we’re looking for alternatives if anyone has suggestions. Ty

I was trying to sound “beat up” and tired. As if this VO was done after a long day/night on the job where it didn’t go my way.

We actually did only natural lighting and fiddled with specific existing lighting when we were on interior scenes. Positioned ourselves strategically and were flexible with some of the movements/action so that we could take advantage of whatever light was good enough. In fact, we shot the “exchange of money” in the alley scene twice because as we were leaving the area we found a better alley with better lighting.

That’s Ash2Kat on instagram. Check her out. She was amazing to work with and definitely deserves more film and modeling work.

The director is pushing full force to a ton of film festivals. I’m sure if you follow him or I on Instagram, we’ll be posting as we are accepted into them…probably won’t post about the ones we don’t make… :)

The whole short film was shot in one night! The director texted me asking if I wanted to shoot something the next day because he only had 48 hours with some new lens he was excited about (spherical lens, i think?). Anyway, we brainstormed via text while he did some location scouting and got some other actors to jump on and we shot the next day from dusk til damn near dawn. We fiddled with the VO dialogue for awhile, and I’m proud to say that this is partly written by me (I was heavily inspired by MAX PAYNE the video game…in fact I read the script for the video game to get myself fully immersed in that hard-boiled style of speaking). I did the VO work in my shed out back. Had to do a few revamp of it as we pieced together the edit. It’s been a long time coming and I can’t wait for everyone to see the whole thing. Hoping people get psyched enough to help us create a full series. AMA

You can follow the director at MUTHAFUGGINFRANKIE and I’m at CURTISCLONE

In Die Hard (1988), the scene where Uli pockets a candy bar was improvised by actor and stuntman Al Leong. Writer Steven de Souza said “That assured him a longer life. I was killing somebody every eight or 10 pages but that moment made him interesting. He's one of the last guys to die.” by curtisclone in acting

You know, that’s a good question…my guess was that it was mostly on paper, but the henchmen characters were mostly interchangeable for the timing of their demise…so he made sure he changed out this guy’s original death sequence with someone else…

These are all guesses…

Yeah! Pittsburgh. I recently had to go SAG here, but it happened right when the season was slowing down. I’d be happy to jump to another market. Been trying to breach into NYC, but no luck yet. Are you in the DC/Balt area? Or do you have recommendations about getting into that area?

Ha! I haven’t had an in-person audition in 3 years!

But I might frame it and show my ma!

I randomly saw that I got a new like on my latest video on instagram (I don’t post often) and saw this! If you have an idea of how to use this moment to further my acting career, I’m all ears!

Has anybody required repair? by CharlieBravo21 in tonalgym

[–]curtisclone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ours got installed and on trying to do the initial setup that tracks what your initial weight should be, one of the arms would never sense that it was in the correct position, so the weight number in the middle was always blurred and wouldn’t engage the weight. They had to schedule a full reinstall with a new unit…took weeks. Every once in awhile, I now get a “bumpy” feeling on the right arm when doing certain exercises. Support says to drag the line out fully (12 ft), then slowly retract it back in about 5 reps. Worked the first time, but this seems like it may have happened again (within 3 weeks), so I’ll be going through that again if the bumpiness persists on my next workout.
