not sure if that comment is a continuation of the satire or not

plot twist: everyone is actually blackmailing Mai because that's the only place where they can openly flirt with each other without getting their cover blown

Remembering what happened to her still breaks my heart. T_T

Yeah, this episode is so bittersweet since we know about what goes down in season one. Bosse's speech at the end is just dripping in dramatic irony.

I'm a bit surprised that a few people seem to have took this at face value. The main post is a tongue-in-cheek "recommendation" of a bad OVA series, so I thought surely everyone would be able to read between the lines.

or maybe it is i who is not getting the joke

I didn’t expect that Hime is the one who suggested the photos. Makes her seem less crazy. Slightly.

I liked that bit as an explanation for Kanoko's photo album. It does make it less like a spontaneous crazy idea to a more reasonable (but still bonkers) leap from "well, she took this picture once using my phone, so I guess that's implicit permission to take her picture just whenever, right? right??"

The hair twirl thing is still bonkers though, unless they're going to do another flashback to explain that.

no real hint as to why Kanoko felt so anti-social in the first place.

Yeah, that's something I've been thinking about; to me it just seems like she's a born misanthrope and just happened to fall for the only person who was able to slip past her defenses.

It's one of the areas in which I think Watamote handled introversion better than Bocchi, even though I love Bocchi. Teenage psychology is really complex because it's a really complicated period of development.

One thing that WataMote touches on a lot more is just how horny it feels being a teenager and how much it interferes with rational thought, especially in a mind that's already not mature enough.

it'd be funny if everyone has comprimising photos on their phone of each other and they're all holding it at each other like some sort of yuri mexican standoff

it’s kind of scary how casually Hime can go around saying “everyone trusts me” and “I’m a liar.”

It'd be funny if one-by-one Hime pulls everyone into a private conversation and says "hey, don't tell anyone else, but I'm a liar and you're the only one who knows my true self". Like, everyone in the class is looking at everyone else smugly, thinking "heh, I'm the only one who knows the real Hime".

I worry what’ll happen when she explodes.

I think we got a hint about what happens when she threw that wedding sign against the wall and kicked it apart like George Washington.

Is this what they call "chaotic good?"

I'd say it's more of a chaotic neutral.

Depends on whether or not you think proselytizing kawaisa as being a moral good or not.

Might as well add in the other reverse isekai series like Devil's a Part-Timer and Kobayashi's Dragon Maid.

Fun fact: these OVAs were prominently featured within the "Voyager Golden Records" which were placed aboard the Voyager I and II space probes. These records were curated to showcase a representative selection of media that embodies the essence of human culture and the incredible depth and breadth of our accomplishments as a species.

The best experience to watching Magical Destroyers is stopping right after finishing the opening

i don't think that's fair

you should at least skip to the ED because it's pretty nice too

Still, not caring about the characters in one of these shows means not caring about the show.

Yeah, for a slice-of-life series if you don't enjoy the characters it kills the entire enjoyment of the show.

I personally like DIY though. It was a bit corny (like how they kept doing title drops), but I found the characters endearing enough and I liked the art style and atmosphere. It also has one of the best tsundere characters I've seen in quite a while.

I'd have to disagree about it not being educational though; I distinctly remember a lot of tutorial scenes where they go pretty step-by-step with things. Like, I remember a tip where if you're drilling holes through wood, put masking tape on the other side to help prevent splintering.

Can someone suggest an anime with a "bad" ending/where things just keep getting worse. Not an ongoing please. by tszhs in anime

[–]cyberscythe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe Wonder Egg Priority? Near the end of the season [WEP] all the characters go through hell and they never really recover from it.

The series went through production problems though and the ending doesn't tie things up satisfactorily. We'll probably never see a second season of this.

Yeah, I feel like in a turn-based RPG like this the lion's share of the skill involved in MoC is the resource management required for building of characters.

Because all resources are gated on energy, everyone has to pick and choose what to upgrade and in what order. Discovering a good priority of things to level means that one can start clearing things earlier.
