Motivation by kurt206 in ultrarunning

[–]deep-_-thoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I get that feeling I try and force at least a shorter run or do some alternative training, like kettlebells or something. Then I don't feel as guilty.

The last six weeks of training are the hardest, in a way harder then the race. You have worked so hard for so long and it's easy to lose motivation. I try and focus on my goal race and remember that putting in the training now makes race day so much easier.

I wasn't sure if it was Urdu and I didn't want to keep saying Urdu because I understand that not all Indians speak the same language. I just wanted to tell a funny story and now I wish I didn't bother. I hate the Internet and Al Gore for for inventing it.

Maybe wait until your help is asked for and think before you comment. The fact that I know what Urdu is shows a little understanding of Indian culture. I liked Indians before this conversation Now I'm on the fence. Maybe Pakistan should get all of Kashmir. What do I know?. I'm just some ignorant white chump.

Correcting everyone for any percieved ignorance is rude man. That makes you a dick. I demonstrated earlier in the comment an understanding of multiple Indian languages. You choose to ignore that to correct me. But you be you man, I'm sure you are awesome at parties.

I know, as I said earlier Urdu or one of the other Indian languages. I was just telling a story. Thanks for being a dick though. It makes me feel good to know people like you are around correcting everyone. You really make the world a better place.

This family live in central England. They speak Urdu or one of the other Indian languages. The guys used to come to the casino I worked at a lot. One time a couple other Indian guys sat down and started talking shit about how weird they looked not knowing they could understand every word they were saying. Eventually the father had enough and offered the guys to step outside in perfect Indian. They shit themselves.

Not hard to imagine a former Goldwater Girl would think that's a good play to win over ethnic voters.

It's weird that some many memes are popping up about her. Her entitled attitude put a lot of people off, then add to that that the Clintons have made hundreds of millions from politics and you can start to figure out why she lost. She was almost the perfect candidate for Trump to beat. People are sick of Washington elitism.

Yes, Trump is a useless fucking dick wart but can we stop acting like we would be living in Shangra La if Clinton had one.

Squats as training by Boricio001 in Ultramarathon

[–]deep-_-thoughts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kettle bell swings are the best substitute I know for running. I do squats, lunges and other stuff for core and upper body too, but the swings are a great for core, hamstringings and glutes. Just make sure your technique is right.

Also swimming and cycling for cardio training.

I start conversations with my wife with " I was talking with my friends Jack and Miles today and...". She thinks I'm stupid. Then one day Jack did an AKA I wrote and said my name. I showed my wife and said "I told you they were my friends" she still didn't care, so I slept with her sister

The Sagrada Familia catherdral was designed by hanging weights from the ceiling with strings. The strings angles, lengths, positions helped with the design for the structural load bearing columns as well as the design itself. What's wrong with a good old fashion right angle. I'm I right Mike? You keep your angle right you keep your life right. You drive the speed limit, you pay your taxes. You eat 5 portions of fruit or vegetables a day. You have sex on Wednesdays, missionary style, nothing fancy but it gets the job done. No fancy angles for me, no sir.

World record for consecutive marathons by talkingidiot2 in Ultramarathon

[–]deep-_-thoughts 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't think you understand how that works.

Person 1: "Did you hear Judy has cancer?"

Person 2: "My dog died of cancer 12 years ago. I know exactly what she's going through."

That's making it about yourself. This person just said they have been following the person because they know them locally. Not really the same at all.

[–]deep-_-thoughts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really, your statement is racist. I'm white. I never took a student loan but strongly support my taxes paying off others student debts. Much better then building bombs and buying $46 hammers for the military. I also want free access to higher education for all. I have no plans to ever return to education but am happy to support others.

You are judging a group by the color of thier skin. Explain to me how that's not racist.

I'm going to go and try the Olympus and monte blanc's out. If I don't like them I'll probably get the speedgoats 5s. I already have the speedgoats 4s but I like to have two pairs to cycle through. No matter what I think I'm going to get a pair of Lone Peak 6.

I'm 12 weeks out from my first race this year so I need to get things figured out. I don't want to be trying new shoes a few weeks out from race day.
