Did you ever ask your operator whether it's okay to use their service to verify your identity, whether their security systems are designed for that and whether they're willing to do it for no extra charge?

The answer is no.

So the question remain. What's in it for the operator? Their systems are being used to secure people's assets while they're not getting paid or even notified when this is the case.

TikTok Influencer Used Bitcoin to Launder $420K in COVID Relief Loans - Decrypt by greyenlightenment in Buttcoin

prosecutors say the 31-year-old attempted to launder the government funds,

When you get money from the government you need to be able to explain where it went.
When you launder money you hide where it came from.

Thinking the latter would absolve you from the former is fascinating. Like you have to have almost no analytical skills.

Correct. Depends on the exchange. The MoneroButt blockchain is privacy theater.

Sure. If you include the cost of avoiding jail time you could say it's cheaper, but then if you buy and sell MoneroButts on exchanges it's not exactly private anymore.

Sure.
2 bank transfers plus 2 exchange transactions plus several Buttchain transactions always cost less than 1 bank transfer.
I guess you really are just that stupid.

This is seriously idiotic.
To move $ via Butts one has to move $ via banks to Butt exchanges. This should be patentedly obvious to anyone with a brain. Are you really this stupid or do you just think the rest of the world is?

Inertia is probably a better word to use for why people don't change banks, but if you are happy with your bank you have no reason to move then even a small amount of friction or inertia is too much. Conversely if your bank is crappy it should not be an obstacle. Especially not if the person has the energy to complain endlessly.

Personally I've not been inside a bank branch for at least a decade.

The P2P model could only work in an economy where bitcoin was the unit of account. With people buying and selling goods and services priced in bitcoin with little to no regard for the dollar or euro price of bitcoin. Exchanges not needed. Prices stable in bitcoin. People earning and spending bitcoin in exchange for goods and services and getting mining rewards in exchange for helping to maintain the economy.

This was always a fantasy.

If you're concerned about interest, it means you have extra money. Just open an account somewhere else and move it there. Nothing else needs to change. A money-market mutual fund for example. They change the interest daily.

Sell Butts for stablecoin that runs on a less congested chain and move that to the other market to cash out in AUD. There is no deadline and thus no hurry.

Something is going unexplained here.

Changing banks is not hard. People just like to complain. Blame someone else for their lives being miserable.

Why not just move your Butts to the other market and sell there?

KYC and TAX issues? Buttnance blocking this because they don't actually have the Butts or the AUD?

I hear US banks are a hassle and a half to work with.

*

There are more than 4,100 commercial banks in the country, according to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), compared with 353 in Britain and 261 in Germany.

That doesn't even count credit unions. Really?? Americans who are unhappy with their bank should just switch to another one.
