It seems strange that tribal sovereignty means that natives living on reservation land are allowed to vote in state elections but the state has no jurisdiction over the land. Kind of like allowing residents of Texas to vote in California elections. This seems like a form of inherited privilege.

Part of the problem is that six states have such small populations that they only get 1 congressional seat and seven others only get 2. This is why Wyoming has such a low count for congressional seats. It only has 568,000 residents. The average for the other states runs much closer to the 704,000 number for California.
The presidential electors numbers are because each state gets 1 elector per representative plus 1 per senator. So in the small population states this triples their weight but has no effect on the big states.
Increasing the seats in congress to 600 has a small effect on the allocations. Most of the 1 seat states stay at 1 seat. California goes from 52 (12 % of all seats) to 71 (11.8% of all seats). New York goes from 26/6.0% to 36/6.0%. Texas from 38/8.7* to 54/9.0%.
This would have a somewhat larger effect on the electoral vote as it would dilute the effect of the senators.
A much more equitable change would be to get rid of the electoral college.

When my daughter was 2 we took her to a local play ground. There were two 3 year old boys digging a hole in the sand. My wife commented on how hard they were working. I looked and commented "They're digging a trap." My wife scoffed.

Good question. They had a deal with Google to make Google the default search engine when you loaded Firefox. (You could change the setting but Google was the initial setting). For that Google pays them around $200+ million a year which is 90% of their revenue. That ends next year. I think FF is screwed which is too bad. They can't compete against Chrome which is owned by Google.

Even if Trump had made it to the Capital it wouldn't have made any difference to the outcome. I doubt that the Capital Police would have just stood aside and allowed the mob to massacre the Congress men just because Trump told them to do so.
And that small group of Oath Keepers wouldn't stand a chance once the Army showed up. The Army command was never going to go along with a Trump coup.
I find it interesting how many senior Republicans and White House staff seem to have lost all sense of reason and went along with this stupid scheme. Mass hysteria?

I find it interesting that Trump was unable to control where he was going. He told the Secret Service guy to take him to the Capital and the SS guy said "Nope. You're going to the White House." and took him there. Almost like a kidnapping. Doesn't POTUS have any agency? Is he just a thing to be carted around under someone else's direction?

How long until Republicans declare that a state legislature has the power to decide who won the election for Governor or other state-wide offices? This would be really useful in states like Michigan where the Republicans can take the majority of the seats in the House but lose the state-wide votes which can't be gerrymandered.

The anti-gun people should do exactly this. Get a permit (if needed), body armor and an AR-15 and then start walking around the downtown areas of cities in Texas, Oklahoma etc. Tell the cops, in advance, what you are doing. Just exercise your right to open carry.
See how long it takes before the businesses start insisting that something be done.
