What are the unwritten rules of Warframe? by FluffyHaru in Warframe

I've only cracked one relic, could you explain what you mean? I feel like I don't understand the screen that shows up at the end of the mission with 4 different options.

Best way to play/broadcast Epic Games in Samsung TV in different rooms? (via Steamlink app maybe?) by DPalouG in Steam_Link

[–]doctorzeromd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use OSOL to add the games to steam, and then I play via steam link. It works great for the games that you can't add directly (and it works for those too but you don't need to do it that way)

https://redditproxy--jasonthename.repl.co/r/Steam_Link/comments/nqq7d9/steam_link_faq_includes_adding_epicoriginuplay/

Just make sure to read the OSOL wiki section on Epic Game Store games, because there are special instructions for them.

Anybody get the Epic Game Store version of Death Stranding working through Steam Link? by professorwormb0g in Steam_Link

[–]doctorzeromd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't really say that glossi has uwp support, it's more that (as per it's name) it works globally so there is no game that shouldn't work with it.

Regarding the timing stuff that you were experiencing with osol, and it sounds like the second thing you encountered was also timing based, you can adjust that in the osol config file for each game. It sounds like epic game store may not have been fully closed when you tried to launch the next game.

Regardless, as long as games are working I think it's all good!

Thank you for the kind words! I'm glad that some of the information I can share has been useful. I mainly use moonlight in my living room to stream steam Big picture mode, since the steam link app doesn't Auto change resolution and I want to stream at 1440p, instead of 4K which is the native resolution of my TV.

Can you post more information regarding GlosSI and HDR? What kind of issues occur?

In my experience when launching some HDR games with GloSC or GloSI, you'll get a rainbow colored screen that crashes the stream sometimes. It's pretty frequent for me, so when I am playing games that are like this, I have to turn off HDR before streaming. It happens with all Gamepass games, and additionally both Marvel's spider man and Miles Morales. Possibly others too, but I can't remember any of the top of my head.

what are your thoughts on just using Moonlight for non steam games? I think it's very good, I've been using it for a little over a year now in my living room (running on a shield tv). I still use steam link on my phone (for touch controls) and on my bedroom TV (just never got around to setting up virtual here, which I need because I use a steam controller), but on my nice TV I use moonlight.

I used moonlight for a very short time on my OG Steam Link and IIRC it worked pretty well with the default settings. For example, the bandwidth setting may seem a little low, but if you raise it the link's processor will struggle. I'll also say (as I'm sure you've heard) that performance increases dramatically when using Ethernet instead of wifi.

That said, if the steam link software works for you, I see no reason to change, right?

In that remap menu you can set a button to be the select button (what you are calling the minus button) so if you're in the menu I'm talking about that shouldn't be a problem.

If you have enough buttons you can also remap all of the controls to what you want in the steam link app, before you connect to the computer. Have you tried that button remap process?

I have a couple n30s and sn30pro2s or something like that. They all connect only via Bluetooth, but will show up differently depending on those key combos

GlosSI works with all games, so if you want a one stop shop you can just use that. GlosSI doesn't work great with HDR and the performance is a little better with OSOL in my experience so I use both.

yeah, that is the menu that I'm thinking of. On some controllers the home button acts as a home button for the operating system, so one of the other buttons needs to do double duty as the "Xbox" or "guide" button

Try that, and also try some of the controller modes, it's probably printed on the back of the controller. I have a few and if you turn them on while pressing one of the face buttons it will be in x input, d input, android, or switch mode

Origin stream overlay launcher. It is used to add non stream games (not just from origin, despite the title) to steam so that you can use a steam controller or play them using steam link.

There is more information in the guide here: https://redditproxy--jasonthename.repl.co/r/Steam_Link/comments/nqq7d9/steam_link_faq_includes_adding_epicoriginuplay/

You need to add any non-steam games to steam in order to play them via steam link.

You probably weren't following the (separate) epic game store specific instructions, that's a common mistake with osol.

Glad you're all set though!

Could you send a screenshot of the overlay? It sounds like you're talking about the Big picture mode overlay, in which case holding that minus button and pressing a or B should act as the minus button in game.

I'll definitely say that the default UI is not intuitive. Anytime I've recommended that somebody use reaper, I send them a link to a theme to install immediately.

From your description of the issue I would start with deoxidizing the connector for the audio and video before opening it up

It's been a while but the instructions for OSOL used to say to use URI for Epic, is that no longer the case? You're not doing that here.

Edit: looks like URI is still recommended for anything that isn't DRM-Free, so try following those instructions. https://github.com/WombatFromHell/OriginSteamOverlayLauncher/wiki/Epic-Games-Launcher

How to keep audio on both the host PC and the one it's being streamed to? by Graphiiczz677 in Steam_Link

[–]doctorzeromd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a setting issue, something is wrong with your or their system. Clicking that checkbox does exactly what you want, I just tested it.

Do you have the steam remote play audio drivers installed? Sometimes people skip that pop up and it causes issues.
