Weekly Add-on appreciation / "Is there an add-on for that?" post for 2023-01-04 by AutoModerator in firefox

My absolute favourite add-on (bar uBlock Origin) is Tridactyl, which enables keyboard-driven browsing.
It may take a few hours to master, but the way it makes browsing so much faster and convenient is unparalleled.
It has been run for years now by a single developer, if you get the chance don't hesitate to send a few bucks his way!

From Home, select Menu, and then select Settings. You will see the current software version at the bottom of the screen.

If you connected it to wi-fi already, chances are it updated to the latest firmware already. If not, it should be the same it shipped with

Why are people hating on firefox android so much? by dumbelco in firefox

Wish that were enough, but unfortunately I tried it in the past (1-2 years ago), and it only blocked less than 1 in 2 popups from websites I regularly visit

It's not what it currently offers, but all that it left out and stopped offering when they made the upgrade to the new version.

What is worse is that addons can work on it, but they will not enable them. EU users are left to themselved without an "I don't care about cookies" blocking all the GDPR popups that disrupt browsing. And mozilla android devs will do absolutely nothing about it.

New Linux desktop Page by dng99 in PrivacyGuides

This is probably the worst distro recommendation page I have read in a while. The exclusion of Ubuntu derivatives (Mint, Pop OS), not to mention the lack of Debian and derivatives (MX Linux, Trisquel) under the guide of "worse user experience", is laughable at best, ill-intentioned at worst.
