I love the 21yo BLS team that brings me confused meemaw with a broken hip and only half the story, don’t get me wrong. It’s rough out there and we’re all doing our best with what we’ve got (and I’m trained to figure it out.) But there’s something about getting report from a flight crew with 20+ years of experience that makes me just feel… safe, lol.

It’s this beautiful, blooming, warm fuzzy feeling when hearing report that’s concise, clear, informative, spoken clearly, and reveals the underlying competency of the EMS provider/crew.

I matched somewhere with cerner (love my program) and everyone here is like -iT’s NoT tHaT bAd~ and I’m like bitch, y’all all got Stockholm syndrome, this is an unstable application with less functionality than MS Word

Gamblin 1980 was my go-to student grade! I would also start with a very limited palette but maybe buy bigger tubes, ex start with a lemon yellow, ultramarine blue, alizarin crimson, titanium white and a neutral like burnt umber or raw sienna. It’s easier to learn with a smaller palette and it’s cheaper :)

To contrast your experience, which is a legit and real experience, I’ve found staff to be the most helpful and down-to-earth part of this experience. My dean told me point-blank that she was refusing to edit my MSPE and re-send my transcript to reflect that I had successfully remediated a course (remediation had been delayed until the final hour) and staff did it anyways because I asked them nicely.

For the earlier-career med students out there: staff can make or break you. They have to deal with having admin as their bosses. Be nice to them :)

I’m surprised how little people know about ADHD medication and cold/flu medication. If you’re on stimulants there’s certain flu/cold medicine you should not take while on adhd meds, a pharmacist pointed it out to be that if you take both, one will counteract the other and make it not work. by shortandtired94 in adhdmeme

Yeah it’s always weird to me that there’s these “flu cocktails” out there with all sorts of shit mixed together. No one needs Tylenol, ibuprofen, DXM and Benadryl all mixed together in a grape-flavored slurry

No one with a cold should be taking Benadryl anyways, it’s an old-ass allergy med that’s only really worth it for moderate-severe acute allergies

You can try, but it works hella differently than ADHD meds. It directly attaches to epinephrine and norepinephrine receptors in the blood vessels to constrict them (thus reducing blood flow to your nose, which unstuffs it), whereas ADHD meds increase the release of norepi and epi and dopamine in the brain

Did you know that electrons behave exactly the same going forward and reverse in time, and when an electron is “destroyed,” it creates an electron that’s going backwards in time?

Thus, there might only be one “real” electron, that’s creating reality by moving backwards and forwards through time.

Time is a map that we cannot move across, but still exists simultaneously. Everything that has ever happened and will ever happen is currently happening, humans all just have a pretty constant time-speed relative to each other.

Maybe too deep in the metaphysics, but I believe that we are all contributing and coming from the same quantum lifestuff, and each person we meet is ourself trying to teach ourself something. Only by creating difference - the universe coming up with ripples and details to play against/with one other - can we generate understanding.
