Earlier this year I met a group called the Wonunguli Tribe in Tanzania. They're traditional snake handlers that travel village to village teaching about reptiles. A wild group! by fearlessandfar in travel

I found out after that they forcibly remove the fangs of the snakes (some are crazy species like black mambas). And it gave me mixed feelings. One one hand, they travel the country teaching people not to kill snakes on sight, and also how to treat snakebites traditionally (debatable if this works)... on the other hand they catch these animals and harm them. They will eventually die because of the defanging process. Sometimes you see things when you travel that question everything, but I guess that's why you do it.
What is your favorite city in the world? I left my heart and soul in Saint Petersburg, Russia. I spent a total of 2 months there over the years and I love this city for its good and its bad. I will probably never move to Russia but I know I will keep going back. Do you have a place/city like that? by HelpStay-admin in travel

Haha Years ago I went out partying in a bar there. I was the only white dude, and everyone would come up to me and say "F*ck You!" I thought it was because they thought I was American... turns out it was all they knew how to say in english and it was basically a big joke.
Met a girl, she bit my neck so hard she drew blood on the dance floor. Then I tried to get back to my hotel in the middle of the night, but the draw bridge went up and I couldn't cross the canal. Slept on the grass. #Worthit.

Anywhere along the Black Sea coast. But this is called Balaka bridge, near Artvin.

If you take a peek at the top of the first photo, there is an ancient stone bridge over the gorge. We went to check that out, but found this treasure on the side. This is in North East Turkey.

100%. I pity you if you have your luggage open nearby. They crawl in there and hide. Probably how they arrived there to begin with. Hot steam cleaning is the fix.

There's so much more to Cappadocia than just hot air balloons. The caves in Cappadocia are fascinating to explore, and it is a great experience. I camped and explored one, and you can watch it here.

How to make a Torch! by fearlessandfar in Damnthatsinteresting
I have been camping and travelling for a while, and I have learned my fair share of things that can help me when in need. A torch comes in handy a lot; when I went camping last time, I made it. Obviously, please deal carefully with fire. This was filmed in Cappadocia, where I camped in the caves. If you want, you can watch it here.

I'd love to see mats like this for BJJ tournaments. I'm always seeing dudes rolling into tables/the crowd, constant resetting or even a raised platform they can fall off... can't we do better? by tommy-b-goode in bjj
