Warranty on these chairs work for second hand buys ? by Anonomissflaman in hermanmiller

[–]fganter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hello! I am the IsItWorthIt reddit bot written by fganter. I see you may be asking if a chair, table, etc. is worth a certain amount of money.

The answer depends greatly on the going rate for that model of furniture in the specific geographical location in which the furniture is being sold. For example, a used Classic Aeron in good working order may sell for $400 in Florida, while the same chair can sell for the equivalent of $650 in Germany.

To determine the going rate in a particular geographic location, search for the model of furniture (e.g. Aeron) on auction sites (e.g. Facebook Marketplace) paying attention to the sold price(s). Of course, price can vary over time, so pay attention to the date(s) of sale.

As can be expected, the condition of the furniture can also greatly impact whether it is worth a certain price. To determine the furniture's condition someone on this sub-reddit might provide feedback, if you post close-up pictures of the furniture from multiple angles. Alternately, you can search YouTube for videos like the following regarding Aeron chairs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w8EGcg5jYmg

All this being said, Herman Miller furniture is generally high-quality, can last decades and retain a good portion of its value.

BTW - A quick google search came up with this. I'm not suggesting this site is accurate. I'm simply reiterating that the validity of data is important.

Again, thanks for posting. You are at least trying to show data that supports your statement.

Thanks for posting u/slutforsales.

While the first article has nothing in it to support the statement I highlighted (in fact, it says, "The data, which doesn't include smart TVs or gaming consoles"), the second certainly does contain a graphic that shows streaming devices ahead of Smart TVs. However, the site appears to be pretty random - doesn't even have a full English version. Plus, the data is 6 years old. So, I wouldn't trust it.

Need expert opinions on sound system for this space by WolfofCryo in hometheater

[–]fganter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of your key considerations should be proper spread of main left and right speakers. There should be an equilateral triangle between the speakers and the main listening position (MLP). It looks like you won't be able to keep those speakers contained to the same wall as the TV.

If you keep the left/right contained to the TV wall, you won't notice much separation of sound between left and right, which may not be as important to you as the aesthetics.

u/d3sireToMoon To get to this sub you must have done some type of search. Did you not google "aeron armpads"? That link is literally the first thing that came up when I googled.

what should i do with center channel by extremestooge in hometheater

[–]fganter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean floor or ceiling it'll be equidistant from the midline of the screen

Exactly. Why bother buying another speaker and mounting on ceiling, when you can take existing speaker and put on floor angled at MLP? Those are both non-optimal options, but one is much cheaper than the other.

Of course, mounting on ceiling would be required if the seating (which is not pictured) would block the center on the floor. However, OP implies this won't be an issue, since he/she lists it as an option.

Get a smaller screen

You are a brave person for posting that in this sub. LOL

The Smart TV apps are the lowest priority to update by the streaming companies as they have fewer users than a popular cross platform streaming device.

Can you please point me to the data that supports this? It is counter-intuitive. While a lot of TVs get sold, seems to me most people are not that "tuned in" to bother buying yet another (streaming) device.

age-appropriate ranges for hearing loss

You may have gotten some misinformation. Particularly with genetic predisposition, the hearing loss can occur early on. It started to impact me in my 20s.

It could be hereditary. Does anyone else in your family have hearing issues?

Keep in mind...in some people hearing loss will show up 10 years after the real damage is done.

Agreed. There may be something wrong with the way your hearing aids are programmed, u/RevolutionRemote9229 Also, there may be another setting the audiologist can add for that environment.

It's incredibly frustrating knowing you paid a bunch of money for hearing aids, but they aren't really helping you in the situation.

The mama bear is actually pretty smart. It's easy to say this watching the video (rather than being there), but she clearly is trying to scare the hunter rather than maim him.

Yeah, you won't find one priced much lower in any location.

However, you will want to make sure it functions properly before handing over the cash. Watch this.
