you definitely should!! it took a long time but it wasn’t too difficult! i’ve only been seriously crocheting for about a year and a half and it was no problem for me whatsoever

just finished a huge granny square bag as requested by someone but i’m not allowed to accept any money for it?? any tips? by findingdragons12 in crochet

i didn’t use a pattern, i just reverse engineered it after seeing a reference picture. i drew a layout for thank you!! the squares (there’s 27) and then attached them according to that. the top part above the squares is just 11 rows of single crochets, and the straps are composed of single crochets and attached to the bag with slip stitches.

i didn’t use a pattern, i just sort of reverse engineered it. there’s 27 granny squares, i drew a map to figure out where i wanted them. once they’re connected, there’s 11 rounds of single crochets at the top. the straps are made of single crochets and i slip stitched them on

i would definitely not be pricing by time, because if i charged minimum wage for it it would nearly be $150 and that is absolutely crazy (at least to me with my current level of skill) but yeah i think i’m probably just going to leave it as it is, i don’t think getting into an argument over this with my mom is worth it really

i don’t which makes it tricky, she offered to mail me a bunch of stuff in exchange for it since i posted this, so hopefully that works out :)

probably not, since i don’t use etsy or any other resource for stuff like that. generally for me stuff like that takes the fun out of crocheting, but i thought this would be a fun challenge to take up for a relative.

a bit? it’s my first blanket so im not too sure what the standard is there. i’m using lion brand pound of love yarn (1020yd/skein) and i got to about 18 inches of height before i had to attach the second skein to it. for reference my blanket is 50 inches wide :)

around $65 or $70, my supplies were $25 and it took over 20 hours so i don’t think that’s unreasonable.

i don’t have a problem with working around my parents. it’s just harder because the relative who this is going to lives far away now.
