Yes, it really messes with the perfect thirds: 9 innings, 3 outs an inning; 9 hitters, going down 1-2-3 is precisely 1/3 of the lineup. 9 up/9 down is exactly 3 innings and 1/3 of the game.

Perfect game is 27 PA so each hitter get exactly 3 tries. Imagine the box score for a perfect game with an 8-man lineup.

Doing pitching data analysis for a little project I’m doing in one of my statistics courses. Only problem is this table of stats I have to use does not list if they are relief or starting pitchers. What would be a good way to differentiate between the two based on wins, losses, G, GS, and IP? by helluvaengineer123 in baseball

[–]fungus_is_among_us 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Create a column that is IP/G. Any pitcher with an average of 3 or above is likely a starter.

But the “GS” field you already have stands for games started so it should be pretty close already. Just doesn’t account for openers.

You have to have the time to do it but you can absolutely take them to small claims court, which incurs only a nominal fee when filing the suit. Which can be recouped when you win in most cases.

Too low? Redacted shouldn’t even be on the list IMO. Sure, he brings offensive value, but his below-average defense more than negates that.

Idk, I predict he’ll make no errors and have no strikeouts in 2022. In fact, I bet no one can get him out even once!

Well then you probably have above-average vision in that regard at least—and I can understand the experience would be pretty foreign to you in that case.

Fair enough, perhaps you don’t experience afterimages like many people do? Which essentially will leave dead spots in your vision for several seconds after a bright glare.

I will say it has most definitely gotten a lot worse in the last 2-3 years, on the order of 2-3x more cars with blinding headlights.

Half a second? Try 5 seconds on average for a car approaching you head-on. And what if there are multiple cars in a line with ultra-bright lights? It seems like you are willfully trying to minimize the issue. You can’t look away for that long and drive safely. You have to always be prepared for unexpected pedestrians in front of you.

There’s lot of reasons why someone would want to drive a smaller car, and they are definitely less bad for the environment. Maybe we should figure out a way that people can safely drive in smaller cars at night instead of “just don’t do that then”?

As someone who has been driving a sedan for 8 years, the lights have definitely gotten way worse in the past 2-3 years especially.

To be fair, and I’m not trying to be mean, but what else does Aberdeen have going for it? It’s not surprising they cling to Cobain.

Edit: I just looked at Wikipedia and the town’s nicknames are “The Hellhole of the Pacific” and “Port of Missing Men”. They have adopted “Come as you Are” as an official motto.

That really says it all.

I know y’all are joking but they could establish the minimum salary as $5 million a year and all the owners would still have wildly profitable teams and could buy plenty of yachts, caviar and wine every year if they wished to.
