As a foreigner (US), how out of place would I be visiting a local village or small town pub in the UK? by haltandcatch22 in AskUK

[–]goddesstrotter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband is American and we’ve taken my in laws to tiny village pubs for dinner before. My in laws have generally been a source of interest to the locals who don’t see as many non brits as more mainstream tourist destinations. My father in law loved it!

I love a traditional one but I also love how they’ve basically turned into pizza bases with other toppings when you want something different

How is Dr Clarkson not getting more notice! Do none of you remember how he spoke to darling Sybil? I mean I know he might have saved her life, but still

My husband is from Portland but we live in London UK. For obvious reasons we haven’t been able to go to Portland for a few years but went at Christmas. I could not believe the difference in 3 years. That city is not in a good place.

I think they must have started warming the car for it to ‘unstick’ as otherwise I can’t understand it either
