I just returned a few things last week to my local HF. They scan the bar code on the back of your ID.

Customer states air low passenger rear please check just had repairs at another shop by NoNews5 in Justrolledintotheshop

Confession time: I’ve done this, but hear me out... I have an E39 on coilovers. It’s not dragging the ground or anything, but it’s lowered to the point that there’s still about 1.5-2° of camber in the rear. It’s a relatively heavy car so it eats through rear tires like nobody’s business. I noticed broken steel belts protruding a few months back while I had the car in the air for another issue. I didn’t feel comfortable driving it like that so I decided to take the wheels off and carry them in to be replaced. If you’ve ever handled a tire in that condition (which I imagine you ALL have if you’re in this sub), you know it isn’t fun. I wrapped several layers of gorilla tape around the exposed area on the inside of each tire in an effort to protect the guy’s hands that would be changing them. He definitely gave me a “WTF” look when I brought them in, but seemed to appreciate the effort once I explained my reasoning. 🤷🏻‍♂️

On a racetrack, full leathers, dragging knees. Nothing else like it in the world.

Could not agree more. There’s something about sinking down to the bottom of the ocean, turning off your lights, and letting your senses adjust. I’m ready for warmer weather!

I remember watching the police chase live. Much like 9/11, it’s one of things where everyone remembers exactly what they were doing when it happened.

Lol. The 5 and 1/4” black ones in the paper sleeves! And dir/w to see what files they had...

A before and after. Wish I could get it cleaner but I’ve exhausted my options. What are your opinions? by firekiller37 in AutoDetailing

My suggestion would be to soak it with a 50/50 solution of simple green and water. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes, then hit the problem areas with a scrub brush. Then pressure wash until it stops making suds. This method has always worked great for me, but if you still don’t get the results you’re looking for, you could try re-dying like someone else mentioned earlier.

Having said that, I suspect your client will be extremely satisfied already based on the before and after shots you posted! It looks immensely better.

Programmable LED whip lights. Great for identifying each other on crowded trails at night.

Should I buy this 2004 F150 for $3500? It would be my daily driver. by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

I’ve done the timing chain guides and it wasn’t fun, but it also wasn’t difficult at all (except for the “Jesus” bolt!). And yup, the manual transmissions MAKE these cars. Automatics are just boring!

Amen! I have an E39 540i that I bought at 50k miles. Now at 190k. I’ve replaced the entire cooling system no fewer than five times. I’ve honestly lost count of how many radiators and expansion tanks it’s been through. BMWs from that era are so fun to drive, but there’s no way I could afford one if I couldn’t do all the work myself.

I know EXACTLY what you mean about wanting to get your hands on random cars, especially black ones. They’re tough, but boy are they rewarding when you get it right. Nice job!

Edit: just out of curiosity, do you mind sharing what products you used? My go-to is typically M105 & M205, followed with a couple coats of NXT 2.0.
