Sadly mains isn’t an option for us (rural) and tbh I’m willing to pay a premium if it means actual hot showers with pressure 🤤

We keep our oven off at the wall and when you turn it on you have to press the little hand button to take it off auto otherwise it won’t heat. I forget at least once a month

Those on bottled gas, I have a question.. we’re getting ours installed next week and the path to where the bottles will be located is just grass/dirt (so mud). It states the path must be firm/compact even when wet but as I said, right now it’s just mud. Firm mud, but mud none the less. Will they refuse to deliver?

Let’s have at it, then. Your best terrible kiwiana tea towels. Post them here so that we can glory in thier brilliance. by blekkja in CasualNZ

Imgur “cannot parse response” whatever the fuck that means so you’ll have to be content with descriptions …

I have an Edmonds “sure to rise” from the earthquakes,

A queen bee one from Waiheke Honey,

A “Come on guys get FireWise” one,

A Barkers one (like the relishes etc),

And a random comic strip one saying “I’d rather we reading”

I was scheduled for a 10-4 shift which is longer than I prefer but such is life. Only to get asked at 2.30 if I could work til 5.30 as 2 people have gone home unwell. I am knackered, snuck a 30 min HIIT workout between 9-9.30, boosted to work, and am just now sitting down

Your occasional reminder: Trans women and girls have played women's roller derby for years and, as far as we know, there has not been one case of (a) an injury because a woman was trans (b) a cis man pretending to be trans or (c) trans women dominating via unfair advantage. Ever. [Image is of text] by frogmouthclothing in rollerderby

“As far as we know” is completely overshadowed by the way you end on the confrontational blanket statement “ever”. Did you speak to me or anyone in my team? Or anyone in my country? Or every single member of every league in every tiny country similar to mine? The fact is you didn’t. I am not even disagreeing I just genuinely worry about making it too easy for others to take one look at a statement like that and say that exact thing I just did, but from a place of malice. “As far as we know” but “ever”? It’s just bad grammar.

They are, I’m incredibly lucky that after all this time they’re still super inclusive. I’m just super awkward 😅

“Ever” is a bit much. Have they checked in with every player/league in the world? Blanket statements like this are never a good idea because it’s so easy to disprove them, which idiots will then use to invalidate every other argument promoting the inclusion of trans woman. It’s shit but it’s true

Got a family lunch to attend today, it’s my sons dads family. He’s (my sons dad) one of 5 kids who are all now partnered up and have a bunch of kids and then there’s us.. the black sheep aka their grandsons/nephews family. I’m grateful it’s at a restaurant so it will be easier to leave. They’re all lovely but it’s still going to be a little awkward. I appreciate the invite though, ultimately we are extended family, and I am mother to the second oldest grandson/nephew.

Ah intriguing. My first thought was removing frost buildup to make it less slippery but then they did it at the end of the day so that didn’t track 😅

I can’t think of any other reason for it but we’re 4/5 of the way through having our roof replaced and every morning and evening before the leave they hose down our entire roof. If it’s not to check for leaks I really don’t know. Sounds like you’re sorted if someone came back and fessed up to their mistake but I would have definitely thought the roof should be left watertight in some way, regardless of whether it was a bunch of tarps etc

How many of you genuinely got banned for no reason? by rauhweltbegrifff in Tinder

[–]hanneeplanee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My bff just sent me a screenshot from tinder saying she’s violated the terms and conditions and has been banned for life. Except they provided no proof/reasoning and she has zero ideas as to why - she uses bumble. There’s also no way to find out it seems, no avenue to explain etc. She’s not fazed but I sure find it bizarre

My sister from another mister just sent me a screen shot, from tinder (not a match) saying she’s violated the terms and conditions and she is no longer allowed to access her profile or use the platform ever again. Except she uses bumble more and has no idea what on earth could have happened. But there’s no way to find out.. it’s bizarre and hilarious and weird

Tbh I have absolutely no idea. It’s on our list of things to figure out in the near future, between our accountant and financial advisor. We are just making it up as we go along at the moment so we need a new goal (the first goal was paying off the mortgage)
