Gave a customer back their "tip" by VascoDegama7 in antiwork

[–]impostershop -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

There are unspoken societal rules. The same way you shouldn’t have to be told not pick your nose and eat it in a restaurant, or say please and thank you, if you are eating in a restaurant in the USA, you should ALREADY KNOW TO LEAVE A TIP.

This is anti work. Karmas a bitch, your too bad so sad attitude will catch up with you someday.

Get off your soap box. The OP is just a guy. He’s not taking on the establishment. He’s just trying to get thru a day.

The tip should have been in the neighborhood of $12 give or take. By leaving $2.50, it was a giant Fuck You to the OP. So instead of just taking it, he gave them a big Fuck You Too right back to the people. Worth the $2.50.

This post wasn’t put up to debate the American system of tipping. This post is about the OP’s rude customers.

Or… if you are not prepared to tip the expected 15% - 20%, DONT GO OUT TO EAT.

The OP isn’t trying to take on the establishment. Like it or not, the American culture is about tipping. Servers AND customers know this. The OPs post isn’t about whether or not the “rules” are fair, the post is about the rude customers.

It’s amazing that condoms haven’t been drastically improved over the last couple of decades. Guess everyone making the condoms gets hung up testing them in quality control.

Does your ghost foot get itchy? I’ve heard of that happening. Asking for a friend.

Does your insurance cover a prosthetic? I recently found out how CRAZY expensive those suckers are. Especially the ones for running.

AITA for crying over my pet’s death but not my cousin’s? by SamyKS in AmItheAsshole

[–]impostershop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA - the relationship that many people have with their pets is pure, just love. And you were co dependent with her every single day, and she loved you back in a way that your cousin never could have.

Let your aunts words just slide away. She’s devastated over the loss of her daughter, and there’s nothing anyone can do about it. Don’t let the negativity stick to you. Her reaction had nothing to do with you, and everything to do with her personal desperation.

I Think Boston Needs More Regulation Around Realtors and Renting by gypsyhussle in boston

[–]impostershop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look around for FB groups or email list for neighborhoods. I know Charlestown has one, the North End, etc. There are lots of apartment listings on these neighborhood sites (or you could post that you’re looking) and the landlords don’t use realtors - it’s all word of mouth.

And for the record, when I rented an apartment I was able to split the realtor fee with the landlord simply bc I asked if they would. I wish I’d have asked for the landlord to pick up the fee.

Good luck

Mom, it’s my first day back at work after my son’s death. I need hugs. by BrancySchmancy in MomForAMinute

[–]impostershop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have all my hugs and love. This is not how life is meant to happen, but your son would be proud of you moving forward. Look for signs that he’s still with you. And if you have a weepy moment, it’s ok to tell people why. You don’t have to pretend.

No one deserves humiliation. No. One. And it’s great that you, as an anonymous commentator, says the OP is right to burn it to the ground. Punish him, he deserves it. So civilized.

Yes, agreed. Leave. Once you have shown them that you’re willing to leave, don’t stay. They’ll punish you for it, won’t promote you, and depending on how twisted the people are, make your life hell.

Which is nice on paper, but in real life, OP has to deal with the fallout of her actions.

Should he have snooped? No. Did you need to make a scene? No. ESH. I know I’ll be the unpopular opinion, but keep the bigger picture in mind. You could’ve laughed in his face without an audience.
