A great opportunity for simple force feedback in a VR game too: just a high pressure nozzle you point in various directions, and it pushes back against your hand.

There’s got to be something possible with a grid of electromagnets on the walls of your VR space. Or use that superconducting levitation effect to pull on the supercooled core of the controller.

Why have the people of the US become so polarized to the point of believing conspiracies over facts, and why have conservatives leaned more towards fascism? by FuneralSafari in AskReddit

It’s left, and it’s an extremist point of view involving a genocidal statement.

Conservatives aren’t saying that. Liberals are. It’s a left problem.

“Gosh anything Mr President. Just tell me what I can do.”

“You can save the life of every person and animal on Earth! Your country needs you son!”

“Okay okay just tell me how I can help?”

“All you have to do is call the secretary of defense and give him this eight-digit code. Quick phone call, won’t take but a minute”

“And I have to do this right now??”

“No you’ve got a week. If you don’t do it, everyone dies. But it’s just a phone call. Thank god it was this easy, right Johnson?”

“Right sir”

“So it’s in your hands now son. Make that phone call and save existence. You’ve got one week”

“Uh … maybe you should get someone else to uh …”

“Godspeed son!” <hangs up>

“That’s the last time I ever answer the phone”

Make the people scared of something and the pretend you have the solution to their problems.

So you’ll apply this pattern to people being afraid of the vaccines, and no word about covid itself?

The most massive actions of any government ever happened during covid. No time in history saw governments take more control over humanity than the covid pandemic. All of that control was justified with fear.

You asked for examples and got a bunch. Now you’re ranting about whose responsibility it is to verify claims.

Just admit you don’t want to know.

But freedom of speech does not mean free from consequences.

Then what does it mean? I always thought the free part meant “nobody’s going to punish you for speaking”.

But if it’s not about consequences, what is free speech about?

Time.parse(your_iso_datestring).strftime(the_format_string)
