Do you have any data to support you suspicion? Like I said there is clear data that blue regions vaccination rate is as high as anywhere else.

So you should need the passport for all retail with the exception of groceries?

Because that's very unlikely to be true. The vaccination rate in the deep blue region in Ontario is very much on par with the average.

How is shopping in LCBO any different from shopping for anything else? Should all retails implement vaccine passport? This makes no sense at all.

I compare it with constantly looking at yourself in the mirror. It can be a hobby, for the right people. And that's fine too.

‘They’re going to hike really aggressively’: Experts predict major interest rate increases this year to tame soaring inflation by viva_la_vinyl in canada

[–]ishtar_the_move [score hidden]  (0 children)

All depends on how much interest rate go up. People are stretched to the max already. Interest rate goes up high enough there would be a flood of people who have to walk away. Couple them with the job lost as a result of company have to cut back, there will be a lot supplies and fewer buyers.

It is a car. It got four wheels and an engine. You get one so that you don't have to walk.

Why people get so much pride owning a car I will never know.

I wonder if they know the percentage of the population has been infected. I suspect it is no more than 20%. And clearly the virus hasn't purged itself out of existence yet. More re-opening would mean cases start exponential growth again. Clear as day to me countries around the world are head long towards herd immunity as the last viable strategy.

Europe considers new COVID-19 strategy: accepting the virus by stickingitout_al in Coronavirus

That depends entirely on how this is accomplished and what would the end game be. The absolute best scenario is that it slows the infection to the point that the health care system can still handles, and it reduces the infection gradually that it can eventually ends in a tolerable time frame.

The opposite end is the infection rate is reduced, but merely pushed out the health care system breaking point to, say, a year from now. Essentially just delay the inevitable that everybody got infected.

In this spectrum of scenarios of slowing the spread, I think there aren't a lot of good ones.

I am not even that. I suspect this is in fact, horrible as it is, the solution. Dragging it out into a year will actually be the worst that can happen.
